If it's got Webers then it's got the "good" manifold which is not easy to get. I bet it goes like a bat out of hell but of course the BJ buyers won't know that. It looks super clean if not correct and I think that's what the bidders will see. Interior is hilarious though.

I will go with $8750 although I hope it gets a lot more.

Cheers
James

I bet it goes high. I'm going to say $17,500. It will look like a bargain next to the $75K Healeys

A nice but not perfect 70 2000 just got $12,500.00 on Ebay, so I'm guessing about the same, I'll bid $11502.00, now Phil's out in the cold.

Does the commission and fees come out of the bid or get added onto it? ie if I bid $10,000, do I pay that plus fees, or does the seller get that minus fees?

You pay $10K plus a buyers premium, the seller gets 10K minus the sellers premium.

On site buyers premium is 10%, but it costs $500 to get in the door. You can bid by phone or internet for $100 fee, but premium goes up to 12%. Need to be registered at least 24 hours in advance and you can't pay for the car on your credit card... need a letter of credit from your bank...

There are more Datsuns then Porsches this year, which is crazy, because usually they only have one or two. But there are at least 10 this year including a Patrol, several 240z's and a couple 280's if I remember right...

I was thinking we should rig it up on this site so that we can auction stuff off to other Roadster guys... Only downside is that somebody will inevitably screw it up for the rest of us by misrepresenting what they are selling (intentionally or otherwise)... And then it all goes to hell... Bummer actually.

See, this whole thing just goes to show you... NEVER BID FIRST. If this were Ebay, none of you would even know I existed until 4.2 seconds before the auction ended... Sheesh.

4.2 is too early. I set it at 2 seconds...

2 is good, 3 is safer if the computer is idle. Don't know for Internet based sniper, mine is on the PC.
Now Sid's is set at 93 seconds, but it has to dial out..... on a rotary line....With a 9600 baud modem...
(I'm picturing Sid, up on the telephone pole like Green Acres, with a big old suitcase style laptop, 4" amber CRT etc)

Either way, you can't beat a higher automatic bid. Feel free to test the sniper, bid on my 2000 :D :D :D

So the Datsuns are doing reasonably well at Barrett Jackson! 9 sold so far. Patrol pulled $12100. 510 wagon $8525. Several 240/280 over $18k. Only deal might have been a 79 280zx for $2200. Might have been a deal as a grocery getter...

John Lorio (Buddy), the guy who bought my 68 1600, is at BJ and has now put eyes on the car. He's going to watch for it on the block so we can see what is goes for.

I'm going to guess $10,200.

Report from Buddy (by text message).

"Some interest in the car. Nice. Like the canvas top, good seats in leather, nice work, beautiful paint."
