Identifying year of rear quarter

I was fortunate to acquire left and right full rear quarters - NOS including inner fenders and door pillars. The seller believed they were from a late model roadster, but how can I tell? I assume that low window roadster rears would have less flare. But any other clues? And do I care? I have a 69.

The side molding is inset, not surface mounted if that helps. There is a mount for the side reflector, two tailights and rear facing reflector on the top. Also a hole for the rubber bumper for the rear bumper.

Thanks

Mark

Side reflectors started in, what, 69? They didn't come on my 68.

Yeah, it's a 69 or 70. What shape and size are the side marker holes?

Cheers

The hole is just a little over an inch in diameter and round. Two mounting holes for the screws that hold the side marker.

Is the inset slot for side molding normal for 69? My 66 had it, but my 69 has smooth sides and the molding looks like it was surface mounted. The car had been repainted, so PO could have filled in the slots.

Thanks for the replies!

Sounds like a 69. 68 would not have side lights, 70 would not have top reflector. Your molding channels were filled in, all years had channels for the rear piece.

How bad are your old ones? There's a guy in New Hampshire, smlibanker, might be able to use a chop of the fender lips and inner fender to fix his

I have a full 2" 'lip cut' of a late model rear passenger side if smlibanker can use it....

Lots of bondo on my old ones. But certainly willing to help out a fellow roadster given that the body shop will likely just chuck them after they cut them out.

I am in Boston area. PM me if interested. (probably not going to the body shop until after New Years.)

most NOS sheet metal still has the part number stenciled on or sometimes they used a paper tag. 68-70 are essentially all the same just the marker light location and shape. the 69-70 also have the hole at the bottom and back on the side for the rubber block where the rear bumper wraps around the quarter. right side is 78100- and left is 78101.
78100- A7850 is July 69 and later (rectangular hole for marker light)
78100-A3350 is Oct 68- June 69 (round hole for marker light)
78100-26050 is Oct 67-Sept 68 (no hole for marker light)
78100-25950 is from Oct 68 on for Non USA and CDN cars
78100- 25950 is also for Oct 67-Sept 68 according to the parts manual

78100-25525 (different door post for low windshield cars but flare is same as high)
78100-25550 are for 67.5 only cars( I used to buy these from Dann at Rallye for $36)
