i still want a roadster

Post by 84TAVeRT »

i think once my transam is sold, i am gonna take a little of the money and make a cash offer on a roadster that is rotting away...

it will not be a quick and easy fix either...

I will have to install a motor and trans, the rear decklid is missing and there is no top...

was considering this car a while back, but the guy wanted $500...

it is a 67 short window 1600...

i think i will offer $300 and see if he bites...

what do you think...

later,
Chris

It depends on how far gone that car is. If it's as rotten and rusted as you say it is, then why would you want to start with that? You might end up throwing more money into fixing that up than buying one from ebay. There have been some nice cars on there that sold for very little.

Can you get some photos of the car or go into more detail about the condition? From what I've heard and seen (I'm new here) $300-500 is fine for a car that doesn't run.

Checking for rust

300 won't be a bad price, but make sure to check the frame where the body meets at the front fender wells at the front edge and the very back you'll see a bend down to the flat part of the frame, in the back part, a iso pad is there and will collect anything that has been put on the road...mud rock, and lots of salt. If it's very bad off then you could always put it out of it's misery and part it out.... speaking of which :D how's the windsheild?
