New roadster owner in Washington, D.C.

I want to say hello to everyone, here. I bought my 67.5 1600 Datsun Roadster over the summer and am currently getting caught up with groups and tech info I need to know. It's a pleasure to find
such a great resource of information.
I saw a roadster about a year ago on the street in Washington and made a mental note to remember
the Fairlady badge because I had not seen one before. About a year later, a friend took me for a spin in his convertible Fiat and later that eventing I checked to see if I could find a Roadster for sale. Within a few months, I was behind the wheel in a roadster that had been very well cared for but needed just a bit of work after a few years of non-operation.
She'll be more of a weekend cruiser than a daily driver. I'd love to know if there are any other roadster owners in the D.C area on this board.

Welcome, there are several Maryland owners, and some nearby in Virgina too, not sure if we'ver heard from a DC specific user yet you may be a first ( or at least currently active!)

Thanks for the welcome, gents! I have not had this much fun driving since I sold my 91 Sentra SE-R.
After years in an SUV and most of my time spent on bicycles and getting around on a Vespa, I'm learning how to drive a sports car all over again. It's my first car without power steering or brakes since my early 80's Datsun 200sx. It was the car I learned to drive in and always pretended I was in something more exotic while behind the wheel.
I wonder if the car I saw last year belonged to this Doug. It was a gray post '67 2000. I hope to meet all the area weirdos with Datsun roadsters!

I have taken a few pictures of the car myself but none that show it off quite as nicely as the ones taken by the dealer I bought it from in August. Anyone remember seeing it on ebay? I have to admit that these pics caused me to take the plunge. I took a risk as the dealer was not providing a ton of information on the condition of the car and bought it without personally viewing the car. It was owned by a Colorado resident and garage kept. I'm not sure how many years he had owned the car. It's possible he could have bought it new.

I'm looking to install a stock radio from that car. I was giving a stock '68 AM radio but the numbers read vertical. I could use an original window crank for the drivers side window. A chrome driver side rear view mirror would look nicer than what is on there now.
Brakes lines and pads had to be replaced when it arrived. Engine was compression tested and showed great results. I'm giving her a tune up this weekend and will sync the carbs as well. Engine mounts need replacing. I'm looking to have that done this fall.

That is a nice looking ride with an interesting interior interpretation. Very nice, drive and enjoy it!

The early 200sx was underated. My friends daughter dubbed his the "spy vs spy" car, when she was 7. For 10 years that car drove back and forth to Oregon at 80 mph!!

I agree nice looking roadster! I remember when that one was for sale on Ebay and I knew it went to an enthusiast based on the bidding. Good catch!

Eric,
We used to live in Shepherd Park, DC and I did have my roadster registered there... my what a PIA to get it through emmissions at DC DMV (my is a 1969 so not exempt...
). We're out in Vienna now, so the SPL311U plate might be available again for you...
The NoVa Z-car club is roadster accepting (especially since the prez has '68). I typically go to their events and occasionally the Cars and Coffee at Katie's in Great Falls. John Kelly with the Post has 2K and as anyone in the area knows there is the 6 degrees of Mark Dent
Anywho... PM me and I can other miscellania...
