New motor

Post by MccStyle »

Hi all
Well its been a long wait but my motor is finaly done. I dont think I updated after I blew a hole in the side of my u20 at willow in January. The guys at AA Imports here in Santa Barbara did a good job to figure out all the little tricks. I cant wait to run it on the track. Unforchanatly my next race day is Sep 4-5. On the fourth my we will lay my Grandpa to rest. So I will be flying out to Las Vages that night and will only get a couple of times on the track before the race. Something is better than nothing. If anyone wants to go to a fun race school the next weekend at streets of will the is a driveing school...

engines

Todd,
I too have a new engine. I havent had a chance to run it, but it should be a monster. The driving school you are talking about, is that on the 11th being hosted by the SoCal Alfa club? If so I'm planning on attending, also my friend with a 67.5 2000 will be bringing his car down for it as well. This could be really cool with 3 roadsters.

school

Ya the school is put on by the Alfa club. They have time trials and race groups. They are the only ones I've run with....

Upon closer review, my car doesn't qualify, my roll bar is too short. So is my friend's.

Mine is prety low also. The club is not all that strict for schools.

I really can't go now. I got the engine running and the replaced harmonic balancer selfdistructed. There is no way I can get the engine broken in in time now.

Doesn't your buddy Datzoom own a couple of 2000s? Maybe he could loan you a harmonic balancer while you break it in and search for a replacement. Just a thought.

DATZOOM is/was bringing #199 to the track. He needs the balancers for his cars. This idea was already thought of. I think I found another. I found a place that will rebuild them for a very resonable price, I will be sending a couple to them just so that I have extras in good shape on hand if need be.
