Hi:

I need learned, experienced opinions here. I live 100 mi. North of Dallas, TX in a community of 30,000. I would like to sell my second roadster. It was painted (not by me) red within the last couple of years and at that time they removed the stainless strips along both sides of the car. They redid the interior (but only put covers over the seats) including a dash cap. The previous owner did $1800 worth of mechanical work last year. It runs well and is licensed here in TX. My question is what is it worth? I've noticed that one of the variables to determine value is the geographical location (West coast does best). I don't want an answer that says "whatever the market will bear." What should I ask for, and what should I settle for? Thanks. Sam

Actually, from what I've seen...the west coast does have a better stock of quality roadsters (due to weather/less rust)...but it doesn't mean geographically the prices are higher.

Here is my take...Of all the roadsters out there, the 1970 1600 isn't the most collectible within the small roadster fanatical community. I'd bet many folks within the community started off with a 1970 1600 and later switched to another model.

So does this make a 1970 roadster worth less then another roadster...marginally, but not significantly..The major factor to determine value is condition, and more than anything patience & luck.

Without photos and more info, I can't give a firm price, but the guidebooks probably say it is worth $2000-3000.
