I just picked up a 1967.5 SRL311 S/N 00148 for free!! Needs alota work but the frame is rust free.

Gonna try to upload some photos. Heres the car when i found it, looks like it was hit in the front then the owner started to part it out. Not sure why but someone started to peel the front cowling up?

Maybe the hood release cable failed and thought they could access it that way?

Unfortunately what you see is what i got.
I got the car from the nephew of the owner that passed away some time ago, it was last registered in 1978 so im gonna have to use a title service for changing it to my name but i do have a bill of sale with the owners last name.
The body of this car is beyond repair and the motor is long gone, im pulling the body off this week to inspect the frame, so far it looks solid.

Post the U20 Engine # from the ID plate... You never know where that block might be lurking... Stranger things have happened! Also, if you know the deceased former owner's name, probably can't hurt to post that and see if it rings any bells... Not sure if there is a protocol on that or not... Heck, if I was dead and somebody was trying to resurrect one of my old Datsuns, I wouldn't object... Also, exact location where it was found could turn up more leads...

I still need to see it in person, but I am going to try and talk Chuck into keeping whats left of the original body and start from there.

Chuck just bought a 1600 half year car a couple of weeks ago. This makes 3 roadsters in less than a year! Can you say bitten by the roadster bug?
