15X7 VTO Lemans

Off the cuff, the 15x7 +18 VTO Lemans fits well on the rear of my stock ride height 68 spl. I had a few "old" new tires from a previous project, so I tossed one on and it looked pretty good, so I tossed on the other and it looked pretty good too. The rear studs on my 68 are funky and short to begin with, but should be a bolt on, if you were to have min 7/16" stud protrusion, (min 1 thred sticking through the lugnut), unlike mine which has three that are short 1 thread. Oh well mine will get new studs.

The front hub is a little big on the 68 for the wheel center, I may lathe or mill my hub so I can check the stud protrusion. The wheel clears everything.

I installed the two wheels on one side, gingerly putted up and down the street, and checked clearances.

I saw an OZ car awhile back with a similar wheel and really liked it. Problem now is the body needs a bit of color!

The wheel/tire combo look really beefy - I like it.

Thanks, really changes the look of the car. I installed futofabs spacers on the front for the putt putt. 1/8"or 3mm. Which puts them at +15..I'm going to check lock to lock clearance with the stock front swaybar.. And get away from using the spacer ,,,, maybe.

Thanks all for inspiring me to "get back on the horse"!!!!

Love it!
VTO did a great job with the wheel design

Are these the center bores already "milled" for roadster fitment?

The center bore of the wheel is tapered, however the tapered center bore does intefere with the hub step, deep in the bore, how much,,I dont know yet, very little, maybe 1mm, as I was nearly able to set the wheel flush on the hub, I may be able to taper the hub to match the wheel bore.

I bolted the two on the driver side and clearances are the same, good.

I think VTO did a great job in the "bolt on" aspect of the wheel, IMHO
the roadster, or,,, MY roadster falls short here in the bolt on aspect.
I deburred the bearing hub casting .025". The VTO slid right on, no spacer. Center cap fits too. Now if my wheels studs were 1 thread longer, like if there were 2 threads protruding from the OG lugnut,,,,,,,
we dont putt around the neighborhood with the E brake anymore,,,,,
I would rather spend 20.00 on studs than lose one of these wheels.

And they fit over the 300zx 30mm caliper, in conjunction with the SPRISO MOTORSPORTS kit, using a 4mm spacer. SAH-WEET :D
Shaving the "NISSAN" and 1mm from the aft piston bosses will clear with a 3mm spacer provided by FUTOFAB. Longer studs required in both applications.

YIKES and that was going slow, in a flat parking lot, I prefer mountain roads with no guardrails! maybe its rollcage time too!

Don't mess with lost wheels, period.
Corvair studs are available, longer, and a direct swap out. Stan sells them (I think).

Thanks for posting that info David-- it is always nice to add more wheels to the library...
