Sounds fun, I should have everything set by then. And $275 for a full days racing/learning = cool.

Alex, its $75 for the autoX, $275 for the track day. I'd be happy to instruct for you. I Think Dandridge will be out in his 240Z (perhaps the roadster, who knows.) All you will need is a DOT M or SA2005 helmet. It would be great to see another roadster come out and run. We will also do parade laps around the track at lunch.

If you come out for this, you will have a blast. I can assure you of that. 8) :D

Is the autoX on the website, maybe I'm missing it? So just $75 for test and tune or would we be doing the track day afterwards also? Either way I will be there. And a helmet like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-SNEL ... 2665wt_939" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
That seems fair price for a decent helmet.

Alex, yes, the autoX is separate from the track day. I don't know why the autoX day isn't split. A friend is the guy running the show so I have the inside track on it. I'll keep you posted.

Yes that helmet will work for autoX, but not for doing a track day. It might be worth looking into a full faced helmet. This is what I run.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pyrotect ... 782wt_1084" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The visor is removable. I also use a FOX motocross helmet such as this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOTOCROS ... 727wt_1084" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its fine for autoX and track days, but not real racing. Its up to you. I like the FOX helmet for instructing because its open and I can talk with a student and hear the student, the full face is great racing, but its not so hot for trying to teaching anyone.

Are you going to be around for the airshow this weekend? I'll be over on Saturday. I'd go sunday also, but I'll be down in Monterey autocrossing 8)

I'll be there Sunday checking everything out. This Sat I volunteered for the drag races at Infineon so we will be there opposite days. should be getting all the details soon. Airshow is going to be awesome.
I'm a little confused, I'll have to pay $75 for autoX and then 275 for track that day or just 75 for autoX? I'll register this week after my paycheck comes in. I can't wait.

It will only be $75, but I'd hold off registering for a little while, I can get you in regardless. I'll talk with my friend and see why there is no separate entry posted.

Sweet, I understand now. I can get the better helmet for that price. If the AutoX doesn't need registering I'd be fine paying there. Thanks.

From my friend:

OK, this is a go!
Just a little over one month away.

At Infineon Raceway on September 10th, 2011.

Come out to Sears and get ridiculous seat time!

We'll set up an autocross course in the racing paddock.

We're going to run this as more of an open test day than a school.
There will be instruction available and ride alongs are encouraged!
Each driver will have a chance to walk the course in the morning, run each individual exercise area and then we will connect them together to make the big course after lunch.
Each driver will then have 2 hours of runs on the full course.

The event will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The website link with description and payment info on the TMR website will be up shortly.

$75

Continental breakfast, coffee and water is included.
The Raceway Cafe will be open for lunch.

All participants will be able to drive their own car on the big track during the lunch time parade laps.
You will also be able to to ride along with the drivers running the road course as space permits.

Each driver will need their own SA2000 or better helmet.
No loaner helmets are available.

This will sell out fast.
Open to 60 entries only.

Perfect opportunity to test suspension and tire settings or just get very familiar with your car.
Come drive- 'flat out'!!

Tell your friends and
register with me at:

trekkor@willstile.com

Please include real name, brief description of driving experience and the car you intend to bring in your reply.

If you have already registered, please reply again to confirm that you are 'still in' and the number of spaces you want.

As Dandridge can attest, its a good time. You will be tired of driving by the end of the day. I'm going to try to see if they will let me take people out on the big track, but I won't hold my breath. It will be awesome to see another roadster running.

I can't wait,

I am confirmed...and Will is right, you will be physically tired before the event is over. I think last year, I called it quits around 2pm cause it was just SO much driving, but SUPER fun.

I've got another Z guy (that I bought my black mesh wheels for the Z from) that's got his car up and running and will hopefully come join in the fun.

Nice, we need to show the Porsche guys that they aren't the biggest group on the course. That gives us 4 Datsuns in attendance? Spread the word.
