Hi all!
I have been lurking on this forum for a few days, trying to get my wits together. Unlike most of the folks here, who seem to be a combination of Roadies, Racers & Restorers, I am here mostly on an information quest, as part of a "Bucket Item". My roadster is SRL31108559, that I purchased new from Branson Datsun on August 10, 1969. My objective is to get it in a "presentable condition" before I kick, so Grand-daughter #3 won't have to bust her chops to use it for her daily ride. My daily ride is a pair of sneakers, as I put more miles on them than any of my vehicles ( with the possible exception of my Motorhome ). My 311 has had plenty of ups & downs over the last 42 years, but is still in decent running condition ( needs a tune-up & SU carb balance ). I took some recent photos a few days ago, that I will try to post, and I will dig through my old snapshots, to find older photos of the "old girl". On problem, is that I was never much of a shutterbug. I will get more specific about restoration objectives ( and history, for any who are interested ) in future posts. FWIW, my only other "roadster" was a 1938 LaSalle convertible that I bought in 1951, and started to restore, until Uncle Sam decided he needed my help in pushing a bunch of Chineese guys out of North Korea.
