I can't believe nobody jumped on it. Man, my trigger finger was itchy as hell, but with the ratster still in pieces my wife would have killed me
that was the most painful auction I've ever watched (because I wanted to participate so badly)
Are the 3 seaters not popular or something? I think they're really cool.

The 3 seater was my original objective. After 2 months of now show on any lisitng I settled for the highest production year Roadster 2000.
I wanted it so I can put my kid and car seat in it. I also would have made a great teeange girl's car when she got older. Oh' well.
The 67.5 was a high list too, but I knew would never get it with an $2500 buy budget.
dam shame..

You said a lot there my Brother.. I thought long and hard about jump'n in on that action. I’m sure I would have survived the initial head blows from my better half, but I just didn't have storage to do this car justice.
I'm sure Dan is just tickled with the entire postmortem lamenting from us "could have rans". Sorry, we love you Man!!

Guys...Yeah, I'm crying...big time.
I had spent close to the selling price on the car, just on PARTS , title and registration! This doesn't include $$ on spent on pro mechanics and the cost of the CAR itself...
Well, I guess that's what happens when you run a no-reserve auction....The purchaser of this car seriously just got an AMAZING steal.
I'm truely a bit baffled...A somewhat ratty, faded 69 2000 with turbine/hurricane (70's) type rims bid up more than 4K. Heck.....partially complete primered hulks are bringing close to the same price as my 1500 sold for...
Well...you live and learn....
** Oh yeah...just got a bill from ebay for $138 for the auction listing

Well, I should chime in here. I think that this car sold for WAY under where it should have been. Yes, I did mention that it had some interesting mods (some folks thought I was slamming it - I was not), so perhaps the purist crowd looked down their noses at it (I tend to be a purist...). That was a damned solid car. If it were on the East Coast and I had the cash, I would have been after that car like a bad habit. I have more than that tied up in the 1500 that I have in the garage and it is a dormant restoration project!
I don't get the disparity between what Dan's car sold for and the blue one bidding up to 17k either. Yes, the low mileage car was nice, but was it more than 5 times nicer than Dans? I think not.
I guess that the 1500s are a specialized audience...
