hello my name is derrick i live in three hills alberta im a huge datsun/nissan fan. but love all classic Japanese cars.
i just pick up a 65 1600 for $300. so stooked to have it always liked them (never thought i would get one)

it has seen better days. the rockers and floor is rusted out the frame looks pretty solid and she has not run in 15 years so we shall see how it all turns out. contemplating on a restomod or a part out to fund my datsun 1000 deluxe project.

ya i will i enjoy talking car. im thinking of getting a 2000 body but i was told the windsheilds are taller and that made some slight changes to the body.

im thinking of doing a few different things to it to set it apart from the rest but nothing major.

1600 and 2000 body are exactly the same less the badging. I think you are meaning a high windshield body ('68 and up) versus the low windshield model you have (built through '67.5)?

Here is the body that I'm looking into. He said it's about a 70 2000 so it may not work with the tall windshield and I want the short one.

that looks like Larry's body shell in Calgary. Changing bodies is not always the easiest as you are changing many things but anything is possible. I am sure that the Alberta crowd will be contacting you soon. Dave and Ryan in Edmonton, Arnold in Medicine Hat.

I have many parts including reproduction rocker panels and floor pans. A 65 1600 is a rare beast as they seem to have been sold mostly in Canada as the 1600 was only introduced in the US market as a 66. Save that roadster!!

rocker panels are outer skin only and are $109 each. Floor pan section is roughly 20 by 20 inches and does in front of the seat from rocker to tunnel and has a bit extra to go up firewall. $109 each side.

Hi Derrick welcome to the site. This is great another Roadster in Alberta Canada. Is your car a 65 or a 66.Looks like a 66.If its just the rockers and floor areas they can be repaired. Are the inner rockers solid or also rusted through. The outer rockers ends at the back of the door. How are the front rails that run from the fire wall to the radiator support. The box sections are really bad for rusting out as well.
If you need any help I have lots of extra used 1600 parts.
Arnold

I helped drop a 69 body onto a 66 frame, it does fit. You will have some brake plumbing steering column and other things to adapt, but it bolts on. Such an uncommon car, as Ross said, it would be nice to keep it together.
