So Alvin, are you hooked on going fast through cones and corners yet? I SO wish I could have gone. Oh well next year. I'll have more refinements and a few other issues resolved, perhaps even a transmission that I don't have to double clutch up and down.

Alvin,
It sounds like you had a blast. They definitely know how to have fun as a group. The track day is more like a high performance driving course than all out track racing. I have driven the track as a race car driver and at the All Datsun Meet. Apples and oranges in my opinion. Although the cones are a good starting point for people new to the track not everyones line is the same and they slowed me down when I took the race car up there several years ago. The only safety equipment you were wearing for their track day was a helmet. Racing requires drivers suit(fire proof) and if you are on a budget like me fireproof under wear and socks under that. A full head sock and then your helmet. Plus fire proof gloves to top it all off. You can get hot real quick with all that gear on. Drinking lots of water is very important. We had several people suffer from heat stroke at drivers school. Driving a car at full tillt on a race track takes concentration and does take a toll on you at the end of the day. I was exhausted after every day during drivers school. I only wish I had more money and more time so I could actually do some real racing. ---But that is not going to happen any time soon. Glad to hear you had so much fun. You are defnitley making up for the several years your roadster was down.

Alvin,
It was great to meet you at the event! Thanks again for sending me the picture you snapped of my car. After looking through your pictures and videos, I was left thinking "Why the heck didn't I get some pictures of my car with a nice background" like the ones you took of your car with Mt. Shasta in view. My only real regret is that more roadsters didnt show up. There are so many of you I woudl like to meet in person. Well, maybe next year they will combine the events and not make us make that tough choice!

Honestly...I'd be a LOT more inclined to attend if I upgraded my r16 to a SR20 (Like the folks who attended)...Just having the extra durability/speed of a modern driveline would be a huge incentive...
...got to start saving.....
