How the heck do I reach the rear of the clock?

I'd like to fix my clock in my '68. I can see it from the back. It looks like the wire isn't hooked up. I'm thinking the guys that did the restoration left it unhooked because it might drain the battery. Anyway, I'd like to hook it back up, but I can't get to it. It looks as if I need to remove the heater control box. Is there an easier way, like maybe through the side of the glove box?
