U20 Water Pumps

Post by waikphys »

I've searched around here and couldn't really find the answer, so here goes...

Is there any off the shelf replacement for a U20 water pump?
I'm pretty sure the G and R series can take a H20 pump, but I would like to know if maybe it fits the U20 also....
Otherwise where is a good source..

Cheers Guys

I can't say about a good source in AUS, but most of the vendors here stock one for the U20

"Nope" could be an FLA, a Four Letter Acronym
Depending on your desire for originality, you could fit an electric water pump and just use the OEM pump as an idler pulley.
Depends of course on what is wrong with the OEM pump.
Nissanman, just trying to help.

They can be rebuilt cheap enough. Find a rebuilder or a car parts store that does it and you will be happy.

Thanks guys,

I was checking for a mate, mine still holds and pumps water, but might not be a bad thing to keep a spare on the shelf!

I've got two on the shelf for that very reason.

Andrew, the two pumps I have need rebuilding. I bought one on ebay while I was collecting parts for my resto and when I finally got around to installing it, it leaked like crazy. It was sold as NOS. It looked new, but when I took it apart, I think it was just a rebuild. The other was on the original U20 and the condition is unknown.
