Yet another newbie to the forums

Post by Speedyshel »

[Dragged this topic up cause it's exactly 1 year I've been part of the forums yay! ;) Haha!]

Hey all! I'm new to the forums and I figured what better way to start it off than with an introduction. I'm currently located in Alabama and sitting with 2 Roadsters in my backyard and another being restored. I've been watching the forums for quite some time, but I've "upgraded" to a member now.
I, like a few others have mentioned, will most likely be asking silly questions that probably have straight-forward answers, so forgive me. I've had my roadsters for about a year now and have come to know quite a bit of the background of them, but there's still LOTS for me to learn.
Why am I in the hobby? It all started one morning when I arrived on at the job site where I was to build a new deck for a customer and it so turned out he had a 1969 2000 (SRL311-08217) sitting in the driveway without its top slowly weathering away. For the next three days we worked on the site, I drooled over it and finally saw the owner and got the chance to ask him what he was doing with it. His first words were "You want it?" I jumped at the deal and bought it. The other two cars he had garaged that needed some care as well, so I snatched them up also. The one (SPL311-24412) is turning out to be a parts car and the other (SPL311-25989) was on eBay but the buyer had circumstances come up and I still have it. All three have 2000 engines in them.
So my adventure began about a year ago and it's been a fun ride since.
I look forward to meeting everyone on the forums!
All the best!
Sheldon

Welcome! Glad you decided to "Speak-up!"
Post some pictures of your projects and bring on the questions.
You have really jumped in with both feet, it usually takes most members quite a while to come up with 3 roadsters!

Your eBay, "buyer issue" car is way nicer then my project car! You need to hold on to it a little longer, until I get the cash and space :D

Thanks for the warm welcome! It'd be great to meet another local owner around here. :) Nice pic btw! That looks awesome. Also, here's a few pics of my project. I've since sanded most of the paint down and trying to gather the funds to have it painted. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3883219

Nice pics, you've really been doing some extensive work on it to post so late in the game!
Looking good!

I think this may be taboo, but I DID drag up this old topic. Just ran across it and it's now officially 1 year that I've been on the forums. And to answer you Alvin, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting James, but I did have my neighbour come up to me a few months back and tell me he works with a guy that has a car like mine (he didn't know they were Datsuns) and wondered if I wanted to see his car. So I haven't met him, but I've seen pics. That's an awesome car that orange one you posted a pic of.
Anyways, yes I've been here for a full year - only this time around I have a driver and not a project car. :)

There is nothing wrong with "dragging up" and celebrating anniversaries. I'd like to celebrate the anniversary of the completion of my project!
