First post so it's a dumb question

Hi all,
I am new but I tried to search for the answer before starting a new thread. I have a 67.5 solex 2000 that I've owned since the '70's. I never had the rubber parts around the hood until now and I need to know the type of screw to use to attach them. Can anyone tell me what size and thread to use? I'm talking about the two that attach to the hood and the four that go on the body and help hold the hood in place.

Sweet another 67.5 2000! What serial # is it? As for the bumpstops I think a standard sheetmetal screws will work. I can't remember what I used. Where are you located?

I'm #00325. I live in Kentucky now (from Nashville originally). Anyone here with a roadster???
I took out the bumpers tonight and it looks like the ones for the fenders are made with a rubber button to push into holes that are there on my fenders already. I didn't push them in yet. I'm waiting to see if someone can tell me more. The two for the hood have a fairly small center hole. I'll wait to see if I hear more on them as well.

I just got back from a ride. One guy backed up at a stop light to ask me what year it was, and another wanted me to price it to him! It was sweet.

Anyways, welcome to the forum! As for the bumpers, the funny triangular ones have what is called a pigtail (think girl in grammer school, not swine). You start it through the hole, then pull the pigtail till the part seats securely. For the rings-I don't know the size of the screws, probably somehting like a number 10 that is 3/8 long, but I know who has a nice set although I have not seen it offered without the rubber...Check for a seller on eBay named 'schluderm'

Take a picture and post it to the registry. I'd love to see a picture. Another site to post it to is Datsun.org, the site is dedicated to the 67.5 2000 and has pictures of most of the known ones. Some day I will get my hands on one.

Gary,
Lucky you! All the body bolts, screws and nuts are SAE. Cars manufactured from 67.5 on use metric for drivetrain nuts and bolts. It should not be too difficult to figure out the correct size.

Exactly the information I needed. I have the four bumpers on the body and the hood has settled down greatly. I just registered the car here and I'm working on getting a photo posted.
