E-bay item 230503808054 from HRCDAT
I'd never heard of or seen one of these before. Anybody have an original? I don't want/need one, just thought it was interesting.

It seems like almost all of the stuff he does tends to be priced crazy.

Could just bolt in a foot scraper...cost less.

I saw this item this morning as well. Is this really a Datsun Item? I have never heard of such a thing? My wife may have appreciated it on this weekends road trip. She is always trying to find the brake pedal in her well.

Yes it is a Datsun Accessory, which interestingly enough is an aftermarket item for the Z's. I checked the Parts Index in the parts catalog I have and it's listed in Fig. 56A item 113, but it isn't pictured. The on-line catalog doesn't have a parts index that I could find.
From what I remember being told some time back, when I asked about it in regard to the Z's, is that it's similar in use to the Dead Pedal Pad that the driver has, except it's for the passenger. It's so that the passenger can brace their body back into their seat.

Les' RHD 240Z had the passenger-side foot bar.
You really need it as a passenger in a Z on an auto-x course! Maybe not so necessary in a roadster with the shorter footwell.
Not sure if it was a Nissan Motorsports piece or not, but I'll bet the Africa Rally 240z's had them.

I can tell you, shorter pass. footwell or not, I won't be able to take my wife on a fun run, and be able to drive "fun", until I get one of these.
they are offered (maybe std) in 60 Ferrari touring coupes as well (330's?), and look remarkably like the Z car unit option.
I have thought of just using the "floorboards" from a CHP Kawasaki, or some other version. you do want to be able to flip them forward out of the way.
can't she scoot the seat up?
Yeah, and have your chin within 3" of the dash.

I checked the part number against the Z's microfiche I have and the first half of P/N: 74340-25500 corresponds to WASHERS and not a Foot Pedal of any sort.
But at $329 US and PLUS.... I'm betting there are various alternatives out there. Heck, it might even be profitable to reproduce out of some chrome tubing, but I'll leave that to others.

It is in the parts books as an accessory. The holes for it are already in the floor. They pop up for sale in the Z world every so often, and one just ended on Yahoo Japan auctions last week. Kind of a "neat to have" item. Neat to have for under $50....

Couple of references Wouldn't be the hardest thing in the world to reproduce, 10 minutes and an EMT bender. For a utility version, could be painted, or use polished stainless tubing.

One of the reasons this seller asks a premium for the parts is because the reproductions are far better than the originals. Lou Mondello is making most of this stuff. I have been able to get my hands on some of his stuff and its VERY high quality. The mono-leaf springs are a good example. He doesn't play around when he reproduces stuff. Yeah his heat shields are big $$$ but they are far more than just the stock Solex stamped part. They are made of stainless steel, and are 2 piece. I think there is some sort of insulation in between the parts. Not a cheap or easy thing to produce.
Before you guys go and start talking trash about things being pricey, it costs a pretty penny to make this stuff. Now, do I want/need a one of these foot rests? No. Its just added weight in my case

The part in the auction is a copy of a genuine Nissan one that I sent to Lou Mondello in the early nineties. It is a roadster part. I actually used it when I rode in his car in 1995.
It is a nice part and maybe one of those concerned with the price could provide some at a lower price so more people could enjoy them.
