positioning of trim/emblems

Post by Scott Smith »

Can anyone give me some dimensions for the positioning of the fender emblems for my 67.5 1600.
I have the chrome trim piece installed but no holes for the "datsun" "1600" . I can't seem to find any cars around town to measure.
I need the distance from the top of the chrome to the bottom of the "datsun" and the distance from the bottom of chrome to the top of the "1600". I can find a picture for left to right placement but advice is always welcome.
thank-you

The best way to measure this is from the center line of the emblems to the center line of the trim as the mounting post are located on both are on centers.

cl DATSUN emblem to cl Front fender stainless trim 0.900"

cl 1600 emblem to cl Front fender stainless trim 1.450"

measured with a Starrett spring tempered scale in 100th of and inch.
Stock 68 1600 sample
sound be with in .020 or so.

Thank you very much. I will install these pieces tonight. Good idea on the measurements. Much easier to measure from center.
