Took part in the Breakfast Club Rally, Tokyo Calling event this Saturday in Napa. I've only had my 1600 since October of 2022, and pushed to have it ready to drive by Saturday. Since I got the car, I've replaced the brake system, alternator, clutch, front suspension components, and the rear axle bearings, in addition to quality of life improvements like adding retractable seat belts. There's still a sound coming from the rear, probably because the pinion+ring are dying.

It was 80 miles to drive up to the rally and another 100 miles of rally, and another 80 miles home. My right leg started cramping after 8+ hours of driving! I only stalled out once (got a helpful push from a friendly miata NB driver), and otherwise met dozens of classic Japanese car owners, including 2 Roadster owners. Of the 100+ cars, maybe 8 or fewer were Roadsters.

That was easily the most I've driven my 1600 and I feel much more familiar with it's vibrations and noises now. I didn't take profile pics of the 1600, but will do next time. Here's a shot with a me and a couple of 240ZX's and some S2000's.

I'm saving that pic, Alvin. I can't believe you got that close and I didn't see you.

I'm the king of the slow lane - I think everyone who arrived at BCR between 7-8am passed me.

That's wild, you didn't see 9 Datsuns with 2 new Nissan Z cars pass you by?!!!

I have a few more angles of your car at speed to share, I was super excited to see your roadster on the road

I was very focused on the road and every vibration and sound coming out of the 1600. I'm pretty sure it hasn't gone anywhere in a decade.

Were you part of the caravan behind the taxi? That car was a strange surprise.

Took the roadster out for a 60 km rip this evening. Lots of smoke in the air today from massive fires in the Northwesr Territories, 1700 km north of here. Makes for eerie conditions outside…and stinky.
Installed new tach cable…works perfect .

Been seeing all the fires in Canada... so sorry. Hope the cooler and wetter weather helps soon.

Little shakedown run in the 67.5 1600 on Saturday, second actual drive since getting it road inspected and plated last week. Drove over to my storage garage in town and took the long scenic route out of town and back through acreage country and back into the city. Car putted along happily the whole time.

Very different driving experience from the 69 2000... that car wants to go go go!!! 67.5 is just happy to putt along.

Oh yeah, and Steve came by Sunday for some clutch maintenance with his red 68 2000

Made it to the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival, Roadsters at the Glen meet, and the Bring a Trailer Alumni gathering at the track. A most excellent weekend with excellent people and a real trooper of a car.

With 21 degree weather here in Canada (70F) on October 8... gotta take red 67.5 around the corner for some pics:

And yes, I need to replace that awful side trim that came with it...
