April 6 , woke the beast up after a long winter slumber. Probably the earliest I’ve had it out . Last year , April 23rd. Started with little effort, and ran great. A slight adjustment to the timing and she was off and running. Put 67km on it first day.
Over the winter, battled with the heater. Removed, cleaned, painted, pressure tested, new valve replacement, new hoses, repaired bull horn, and reinstalled. With fingers crossed, I opened the valve and….. HEAT! Yes for the first time in forever I had heat…and lots of it. Blower is strong! Lots of swearing, and bloodied hands and arms. Grrrrrrrr worst f”&#@in job ever! But hey…I’m warm.
This weekend off to Robs’ ( fellow Alberta roadster enthusiast) to install a “ new” differential with all new bearings . Hope all goes smooth. We did his 1967 , 2 weeks ago so we are almost pros. Almost! What could possibly go wrong?

Top down. Solex-Mikuni soundtrack. Driving one of my favorite roads in my favorite car. Had a great time with Sora on HWY 9 and Skyline. I let a 991.2 Porsche pass me only to catch up to it at the skidpad where I met the owner. Cool cat. Loving this weather so get out and drive!

Roadster Drive Today. Friday. 4-28-23. Vantage and Frenchman Hills. 67 SR20DET S15. 356 miles.
Fantastic day. Warm, 80+, clear, sunny, light traffic, great roads for sustained higher speeds.
A favorite longer route East over the Cascades to Vantage and Wanapum Dam on the Columbia River
and a loop to the east thru the farming and orchards on both sides of the Frenchman Hills.
All on good secondary roads once you get over the Cascades.

First weekend of top down driving . Perfect kick off to spring up here in Alberta . 23 Celsius and nothin but blue sky. Hotter this upcoming week . Forecast 27 C.

Sunday Drive in Sora!

Living in Western New York needed to take advantage of 73F and sunny. Drove along Erie Barge Canal along the winding Canal road. Visited hardware shop in Gasport. Good day.
