On Saturday I joined my neighbor and visited Ronnie's Car Show. The last time I went was February 2020:

Sora was part of a caravan of neat cars including my neighbor's '59 MGA, Dart, Packard and a C2 427 'Vette:

After having some fuel problems, Installing new needles and seats and resetting float levels, wife and I decided to do a shake down drive to The Peaks Of Otter and then South down the Blue Ridge Parkway in Southern Virginia. Weather was fantastic and car performed flawlessly! Maybe next year to Watkins Glen gathering?

Unfortunately, this year a wedding. And I'm a little concerned about "the Bog" up there! Not really, I understand it was filled in shortly after this Greyhound bus was stolen and burned in 1974! About the 3rd year we went up there for the F1 races in my original 66 1600.

Today was hot, 34 C , 93 F. Went for a 212km rip(130 miles) . Car ran great. Temp stayed just center on stock gauge until I hit town then it sat just over center.( stock rad, electric fan)
Windshield was covered with my bug massacre. You know it’s a great drive when….Bit of a mess .

Enjoying The Ride in Sora on this hot Summer evening. Took the kiddos around the block. Then got my Solex Sounds fix driving around the test loop.

Took my '66 "survivor" out for a shake-down drive. Special thanks to Keith Williams for his help in getting my carbs sorted. It's been a long process, completely going through the mechanicals, hydraulics, wiring etc. since I purchased it from original owner in 2019. Last licensed in 1974. Patina in tact. She's a great driver. A nice garage-mate for my '69 sr20 car. Sorta like the old gal. Pat

Fun times those warm evening drives, that's for sure... creating wonderful memories with the kids is priceless... you can just feel their excitement!

I do love the look of velocity stacks, but every time I see them unfiltered I cringe just a little bit thinking about the stuff Sora could suck in, based on what I've found around my own induction system (big stuff like bugs and twigs, but it's the little stuff like sand that is just as bad or worse). The Mikuni stacks are wider than mostly but I do believe a pair of Ram Air foam filters will slip over them if you ever want to add a bit of protection. Easy to remove, and I'm hoping are not significantly restrictive (cause I use them of course! May test side by side on the dyno if I can ever get one lined up!)... just a thought, and so easy on and off you could make changes in two minutes from show to go and back again. FWIW.

Whomever first coined the word “Patina” as it relates to the classic car industry, was the best damn salesman ever!
