Heading down to Southern California tomorrow morning to pick up my new 66 SPL311 Roadster from Chris! Will be driving it all the way back up to the Bay Area on Sunday. Hoping all goes well! Really excited for this addition to my stable.

Drove 422 miles this weekend from Riverside, CA to Oakland, CA with no issues (phew!). Definitely needed to stop and stretch my legs every couple of hours, but overall the ride was great. Hopefully it wont be raining too much this week so that I can get her out to the twisty roads and have some fun! Here's a shot of her at her new home. I have a feeling my other toys will be getting neglected for a bit...

Yes, that must be a considerably different driving experience than some of the other TOYS! What do you think?

Yes, not even comparable, haha. Apples to oranges and such. The roadster is a blast to drive around in. I can definitely see the appeal of building a vintage roadster based race car to start playing with on the track. I'd consider pursuing that kind of a project if I had more garage space. The eternal dilemma...

I appreciate that you can appreciate the Datsun for what it is. I can't say that I have a lot of experience driving high end cars, let alone even cars that are newer than 2001. I have always loved the directness of the Datsun, with no power this or assisted that... like a go cart.

Glad you're enjoying the ride!

Yes, perfect description! I was just telling my buddy it felt like I was speeding down the freeway in a go-kart! haha. I'll admit it was a little scary at first till I got more comfortable with the car. :) Commuted in her to work today, I can't get enough!

Fun Stuff! Don't know what you have on there for shocks etc, but I've got to put in yet another unsolicited plug for JT68's Bilsteins... they transform how the car rides without sacrificing performance, actually way enhances it! Granted, I'm running the comps springs etc so it tends to ride harder than stock, but I bet you would love them.

Mike needed a spirited shakedown for new 2L engine and DZ3 tires, so he, Greg and I did an early morning run through Ortega Hwy and back. The cars all ran great!

On the way back the crazy motorcycles were in force. Note the cycler in my lane heading towards me passing a truck on a blind 190 degree curve.
