Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Driving the "HORNS".
Afternoon drive in #585 to the east side of the Cascades. About 230 miles. Mid 90's.
Had to hear the Mikunis with the air horns.
WONDERFUL. Tremendously different than with the filter.
No bad things ingested , as far as i could tell, but will be refitting the filter.
Not as brave as Skyman or Mike. I hear all dirt, dust, bugs, rocks etc are banned from the air in Utah and SOCAL
but not here in WA.
Sound was great but my horsepower was low! Related, I expect, to driving the turbo roadsters all summer.
Also gas consumption was up as you have to use the throttle to hear those Mikunis sing!
Ted.

Incredible footage Mike. So well done. I will need drone flying tips as I will have mine at the end of Sept. I built it myself but had some issues and sent it off to my nephew who got it going. He'll drop it off when he comes visiting late September. In the mean time I am also waiting on my 3D printer on a slow boat from China.msampsel wrote:RCMike wrote:I drove it up the hill.. Then I let my friend drive it so I could practice my droning..
Awesome, are you looking for an "executive producer" one to fly to Pomona and drive lol

The beauty of this engine, there is no real mystery to driving it.. It just works.. So I am not averse to reasonable people who know how to drive a stick driving the car.. I even did some manual transmission training in it..msampsel wrote:Awesome, are you looking for an "executive producer" one to fly to Pomona and drive lol
So if you want to 'produce' then you just need to get out to one of the shoots..lol
Today was full moon Wednesday, so I went up to check the road conditions for my friends...
Moonrise/sunset..

Just outside Anchorage.
Started with my neighbor but he parted ways in town and I continued on to Eagle River and a little hill climb.

Took my Fairladies to the ol' family farm for a BBQ.
A beautiful drive home with the sunset as a backdrop.

My Sister in law took the lady out to the Winery on the outskirts of Winston Salem. They took pictures, but alas were unable to find a windmill to use as a backdrop! Parking lot shots will have to do!

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Another beautiful day in Alaska.
I adjusted my carbs, as I was running a bit lean the other day.
I think I pushed my touring tires to their limit today. I need to get me some Star Specs.
It might not be a 2000 but it thinks it is!
Started at the airport then put about 200 miles on the roadster today.

Let me know when..spl311 wrote:Nice pics Mike!! We should go cruising sometime...
I got an e-mail telling me they had room at the show on Friday, so Saturday morning Kevin and I picked up a car and we brought a couple cars to the Nitto tire 'Auto enthusiast's day'..
Got parked, went to grab some food, then we came back and ran into Gary Van Bogart, and his '68 race car parked next to us..
On the way to drop off the car, we stopped for late lunch..
Gratuitous PCH roadster glamour shot..
While we sat at the show, I looked at the train station across the street from the stadium, and thought it should be good for a photo.. So on the way home, I decided to check it out..
We got a message this week, that Ron Carter was having a little work party to get his car ready for Monterey.. So Erik and I ran down to San Diego to lend a hand. Simple stuff like bleeding brakes, but extra hands make these jobs so much better.
Have a great weekend on the track Ron! And thank you for racing a Datsun!

I'll stab at it. It's a 2 litter overhead cam with 3/4 or full race cam.SERE Nate wrote:What's in that race car?
