Drove into the Cascade Mts foothills near Index with "RBMann". 10-22-15. 130 miles.
Rick's 1600 was sporting a new (old) Japanese license plate.

Drove my car to the Sports Imports breakfast this morning. Brrrr!!

Just two other roadsters Mitch Jensen's beautiful SPL213 and Dieter Cramer's modified 69.

Image

Others visitors were Daryl Smith, Carl Jaeger, "pebbles" and Arnold Boles. Ross was host and cook!

Image

Mitch's car in getting a new top fitted.

Image

Image

Discussion turned to gas cap correctness and the desire for Ted's informed judgement!

Image

On the way home I spotted a nice 63 VW Beetle whose owner had a very serious case of "roadster envy".

At least the Beetle need not fear the "Cap Correctness Cop Commentary" :smt001 !

So Thursday night, it was off to a meet in Downtown LA..
Image
The meet was broken up by a police task force, one of whom asked me if this was the car he had seen on Speedhunters.. When I told him yes, he told me to keep my hood on, since the car was too old to give a smog ticket..

Friday, went over to Kevin's so I could replace brakes, wheels, motor mount, etc.. After, we went to dinner, impromptu roadster show in the lot..
Image

Saturday, drove to Havasu to visit my brother.. Stopped for gas, but the tanks were dry..
Image

Sunday, drove to the Dickson's house, with my usual perfect timing. Arrived just in time for the sunset photo, and to watch the test drives..
Image

I was the camera car for rolling shots of Spencer's finally completed car..
Image
Image

Monday, drove up to the hills, to see the start of fall..
Image

Great long weekend!

Nice Fall drive. Sunny, mid 60s. About 100 miles. 10-27-15.
Drove to the "All About Auto" Junk yard in search of the illusive 70 240Z brake master cyl.
Heard this yard had an early Z. This is your Fathers car junk yard. Mud, weeds, no one knows where the Z is. Pull your own parts.
Don, the boss, has 3 teeth left. He knows his parts.
Me. The 240z master, how much?
Don. $30.
Me. It is ROUGH.
Don. Hard to come by.
Dealings over!
A very frozen up early Z brake MC is now mine. At least a core to rebuild.

Do not leave your MB or other vehicle out as the PNW Blackberry Vines will get it. Sort of a Northern Kudzu

Enjoying The Ride on a Sunday evening. I just finished snapping some pics in an abandoned GM dealership, even included my "No MG" sticker in one for fun. Leaving the lot I turn the corner to find a guy shooting pics of his sweet Nova. He walks over and says "Wow that is a cool MG!"

"really like your Falcon"
Love it, but sadly some people can't tell a Ford from a Chevy!
And we can't believe that people don't immediately see the difference in our beloved Datsuns and a common MG

That's an eclectic group of cars Richard. They must invoke some interesting conversations! Mike

Ted - you pull up to my junkyard in that fancy shmancy sports car, you gonna pay $30 for a crapped out master... Don't you have a beater 67.5 2000 for junkyard runs?

Weekend started with a desert drive, out to Pahrump.. Death Valley for Halloween..
Image

Arrived at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.. Predawn arrival, and bolt in the race seat..
Image

Got my Saturday drive on, photos by 'White Rice Photography'
Image
Image

End of day Saturday, I hard parked on the straight..
Image

Kevin and Erik arrived to check out the action early AM Sunday, had a great day at the track.
Image

Believe it or not, Kevin had never really experienced what my car was like at full bore, so I took him out for 4 laps.. Approaching the bus stop chicane at 120, Kevin left some finger marks in the plastic..lol

After the ride, talking over the car, and what should we do next?
Image

We changed out my seat, and headed down the hill to Vegas for SEMA.. Got Jon's car loaded in the show, and enjoyed the first 2 days.. On Wednesday, SEMA became a boat show..
Image

It was really stunning how much attention the roadster got at the show..
Image

So fun meeting new friends, finally putting a face to online friends, and seeing old friends again!!

At precisely 4PM on Friday, the engines started..

Image

Drove home from SEMA, through the snow that fell Wednesday.. and arrived home around Midnight, Friday.. Awesome weekend in the roadster..lol
