Nice! Beautiful area and roads for driving.
"Going out for donuts" I get it :)

How often do you see $1.05M worth of Japanese 2000s at a Sunday morning cruise-in?

So far my first few days with the roadster have been going well. Today I met up with Jon at the Peterson Drive in. Thanks for the invite, had a great time with amazing cars on display. And as you can see we are all part of the 2000 club. :smt005

After the show, I took a short trip home and decided It was early enough for me to take another trip out to Angeles Crest Hwy
IMG_3820.jpg

Made my way up to Mount Wilson, parked to take a picture with the radio towers
IMG_3827.jpg

Then I hopped back in the car and turned the ignition...... silence....... :smt102 my fairlady decided she needed some massaging before she would start. The coil wire from the distributor was a bit loose on the coil side and upon closer inspection the ends were a bit toasted. I opened up my un-trusty tool bag and pulled out a pen and managed to wedge a bit of wire out, stuck the wire back in snug and she started right up. Took about 5 minutes, and good thing because it was very hot out and i almost broke a sweat. Plan B, was to roll her downhill and clutch start.

Back on the road to take a few more pics. This time I kept the ignition running :smt004
In this picture you can barely make out Downtown Los Angeles.

On my way home trying to avoid a particularly bad area with traffic, i ended up at a low rider car show.. took longer but the view was much nicer. Smiles all around for the Datsun passing through.

I gotta say, today was a good day :smt109

Sorry Peter, i'll dodge and deflect and say it wasn't my fault.

Thanks Jon, really appreciate you going through and explaining all the details. Your recommendations will come in handy.

Took a cruise out to Ojai through Los Padres National Forest and Lockwood Valley Road. While filling up, I had a nice conversation with the locals and they guided me to Pine Mountain Club a few miles up the mountain. Nice town in the middle of the woods. Had lunch there and got the gyro sandwich. The conversations with the locals was a good idea, the gyro wasn't. More than enough gas to drive me across California. Overall a smooth drive, had vibration at 2500 rmp.. Turns out it was a loose bolt, one of the ones holding the exhaust in place. Once tightened all was good to go.
