Howdy Everyone, :smt006

New guy here. This website is pretty cool and has a ton of information, which is good for me since I have a project to work on. I have two 2000's, one is bare bones stock (The yellow one) and the other one is the project.

I've had the stock one for a few years and I've just recently acquired the project. The project was a challenge from the start. It spent about the first three months after I bought it with the State Patrol. I guess it was reported stolen at some point and was never reported recovered. All is well with it at the end of the day as I have the car back, and a clear title. The stock one has been a blast to drive, it's like driving a go-kart.

I'm not sure how I wan't to re-power the project, but it looks like there are a few options.

I have some skills, and I also have plenty of resources to help make the project a reality.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Ladies, they're not the best, but they're pictures.

Welcome, Oz! You're right - there seems to be a lot of roadster wisdom on this site. I'm also a newbie here and haven't had a chance yet to partake of that knowledge except to have several push me toward rescuing a '67 1600 from the elements and an unknown fate :D . Also was able to touch base with an old friend (actually he's still a kid!) from almost a quarter-century ago. Your two look like they have good sheet metal. I'm green with envy  .
Best of luck and regards,
Bill

Hey, Bill, sheet metal is easy to come by. If your panels are bad it easy to just replace. There are plenty of body panels available. Good luck on your projects and feel free to ask questions.

Hey, Kyle, thanks for the thoughts. I have quite a collection of sheet metal; it'll be a matter of learning MIG sorcery and cutting-and-pasting.
Oz, let's see if I've been paying attention on here: Is the stock toy a '70 and the new acquisition a '69?

Bill,

You are correct, the yellow one is a '70, and the project is a '69 - good eye.
These cars are just a blast, whether stopped of flying down the road, it seems there is always something new.

Thank you to everyone for the welcome wishes. This site is very inspiring.

Oz.

They both look sweet, does the '69 have any true BRE heritage, or just look alike aspirations?? Cool either way!!!!
I'm guessing DBRICK will dig the wheels!

Tom,

The BRE heritage question is a good one, I haven't thought about it at all - which shows my ignorance about it. Your question has made me curious. I think I'll have to compare the '70 and the '69 after I read up on it. Thank you for raising the question.

How is that 205 SeaRay treating you? I ask because I work for a company that makes boats.

It would be really cool if it has some BRE History!

The Sea Ray has been a great boat, my brother works for them, so I got a pretty good deal to boot! It's a 2007 actually it's serial number #1 as it was the show boat for the model year. It has all the toys on it, and the 5 liter V8 pulls and gets on plane quickly. I had a SeaRay SeaRayder jet boat before this one, both hold their value and have been a blast. (sold that to my other younger brother, so it's still around). Which company do you work for? It's been a very rough two years for the boat industry.
