AUTOart diecast 1/18 scale replica SR311.

Post by Nissanman »

Hi folks,
today I received, at long last, my Autoart model.
Let me say that the quality and detail of the item literally blew me away!
It is FANTASTIC!
The engine [U20 with twin solex carbs.] is fully detailed, the boot has a removeable jack, the doors have a spring closing mechanism, fabric lap sash seat belts and it comes with a soft top and folded soft top.
The engine bay has a tiny vehicle ID plate as well.
And more importantly, the steering wheel is on the CORRECT side!
If anyone is considering purchasing this item, all I can say is go for it!
The quality and detail is amazing!
Someone in China has got there shite together.
If you want some pics. just ask.

Can you please point out ANY model of a Roadster that is LHD rather than RHD? The only ones that come to mind are the Ebbro Mr. K edition cars (very limited production and not generally sold in the US unless someone bought some and resold them) or the Bob Sharp model by Ebbro (which has loads of inaccuracies but is still way cool) Your comment suggests that it is unusual to find a RHD model of a Roadster when the VAST majority of the models represent the distinct minority of the actual car market. Most Roadsters were LHD and only a drop in the bucket were 67.5s...

I received mine this week too. It is a 1/18 scale, 67 1/2 (flat dash, low windshield) twin mirrors mounted on the fenders and RHD. The doors on mine don't have a "spring closing".

I was bummed when the hood wouldn't stay open and then noticed that it has a prop rod! the rod is very small so I haven't had the guts to move it to prop open the hood because I don't want to break it.

It is a very nice diecast model and very detailed. It even has the jack holes with plugs below the doors.

The sunvisors are gray in color . . . is that correct?

I have a number of the 1/43 scale roadsters in different colors with both 1600 and 2000 models. They are on a shelf in my home office. This one came to work with me.

notoptoy I have created a Shutterfly album for your viewing pleasure at: -

SPL310 this is the first and only die cast model of a Roadster that I have purchased so I was not aware that they were all RHD :?
I have several 1/18 240Z cars and they are all LHD.
sfdaugherty that little hood prop is a tough as nails spring.
I had to bend it slightly to allow it to engage the tiny little hole in the body but it works a treat.
I didn't notice until I did the photo shoot that the steering wheel is linked to the steerable front wheels
As I said before, this issue model is fantastic for detail in my opinion and I can recommend it to any collector.
Well worth the $$ I paid for it and the 60 day wait due to the ebay seller running out of stock :(

Now if AUTOart would bring out a model for each type Roadster what a collection that would be 8) 8) 8)

Thanks for the pics, the granite background is a nice touch!
The detail is amazing, even the little megaphone tailpipe. Very, very cool - I just may need one of these.

The 67.5 visors started out gray, but some time in the production they switched to black. Good original gray ones are tough to find.

My 67 2000 has gray visors and they look to be very original. Mine is #661

I am reviving this thread because I opened mine today. I must have missed this tread in 2010. The detail on this model is amazing.
