That looks like an oil pan for an L series motor not an R or a U. My stab at it any ways.

That is the comp pan for an RL411. It will bolt onto the G15, R16, U20 and H20 motors and will fit inside the frame with no problems if I am not mistaken. The issue is that there is no room for the exhaust manifold or header to fit. With enough creativity and a patient welder, you can probably make an exhaust to go around it though....

It's for the RL411 sedan/wagon (R16 engine/dual SUs like the 1600 Roadster). It is NOT a comp oil pan, it's just in a different shape for the 411 body/suspension. There is no advantage to this oil pan over a stock Roadster oil pan.

I feel like I am in good company on that! I was pretty sure it was a comp piece, but Adam would know much more than I - he has owned a few 411s - I have only seen one...
I guess I need to go read some more.
