Anyone going?
We will be on an Oregon camping trip in the Z, stopping by for the car show on Sunday, June 14

There should be a good turnout of DROPS members caravaning South for the Sunday show.
(With the usual "Dry Weather only" disclaimer.).
You would think we Seattle area roadster owners would be used to the rain
but a number of us only like to drive with the top down.
A good chance to see the latest SPRISO roadsters!.
This is the biggest Datsun show in the WA., OR., & BC. Area and there is a large turnout of
all types of old Datsuns.

Our roadster isn't running yet so I'll go to the show in my Z, maybe next year. The Rose Cup races are the same weekend in Portland so Michelle and I will be dividing our time between the Canby show and the races. BTW, a friend of mine is in charge of the autocross this year (it's in Salem at the State Fairgrounds) and he says it's gonna be a good course.
Just in case any of you wanted to try out the winter's work.

I thought I was the only one who could use that excuse, i.e., Solvang.

Looks like I won't be able to take my 66 1.6L 5 speed. The wife want to go and I will also have to take our three dogs. We will spending the weekend in Hood River. Steve C and his wife will be showing up also. Planning a BBQ Saturday, any one planning to be in HR on Saturday and showing up let me know. I will provide the Beef. Sunday early start to Canby. What? 3 teacup poodles don't fit on the rear shelf with 20lbs of raw beef?

It looks like the weekend weather is going to be very nice for the Canby Show, upper 70's and sunny, that will bring out allot more cars. We will have 3 or 4 roadsters from our area cruising the back roads to Canby on Saturday morning, interstate 5 is quicker but the 1.5 hour drive that we'll take has allot more corners, not sure about Sunday's caravan but I plan to be there on both days. I hope to see you there.... Bill

I'm planning on going up on Sunday. This will be the first trip that my car has made past the Corvallis city limits, so I've got my fingers crossed and my trunk full of tools!

I just checked 3 weather sites. They all agree, sunny and 78 to 80 degrees. It's gonna be a nice weekend!
My wife wants to see if a running driving roadster looks any different than the one in the garage. I'm telling her they probably don't look a lot different but ours is quieter.
We'll be there Sunday morning. Hope to meet a few of you then. I'm pretty easy to pick out of a crowd, 6'-4, 200 lbs with a blue hawaiian Z car shirt and brown cowboy hat.

After 25hrs and 1800 miles of driving we are back from Oregon!
This was our first visit to the Canby Datsun show and it was impressive.
We camped at Multnomah falls near the Washington border, about 1hr NE of Canby


When we arrived at the show on Sunday the first thing I noticed was how there were more unregistered cars than show-entered! I really liked the venue, lots of shade and grass and the weather was perfect. In a way it's like the All-Datsun meet with an Auto-x event the Friday before, swap meet and fun kid-friendly activites. On to the show!
It was a pleasure meeting all of the 311s members and putting faces to (screen) names
LOTS of roadsters, I'd say about 20+, great showing.
