Hey guys,

Just got back from TWS man what a great weekend, we just finished putting the engine together, in time to put about an hours worth of running time then off to the track.

Friday during test and tune kept the revs way down ran around 5500 to just break it in, discovered a random vibration, you know that one that"s out of the usual suspects, after some head scratching we decided to run qualifying Saturday morning.

Well it was kinda a good news / bad news situation the good news is that I carved 7 seconds off my best lap time running the long course(2.9) miles in 2:12 ( done in lap three) previous best was 2:19, the bad news was that as I left the sssss on lap 4 I lost all power and had to be towed in. We soon discovered that the vibration was all the bolts( yes 8 ) had backed out of the ring gear, and I was rewarded with a third member that handgrenaded and sent two bolts through the housing

Now Friends are a wonderful thing here in the vast exspanses of Texas a buddy met me halfway on the three hour one way drive, while two other friends pulled the shot 3rd member, I was off to get the diff from my buddy.

Got back it in time to run the afternoon heat after qualifying 7th out of 34, we were running lean so made some adjustments... good lord it loaded up on the grid and I had to start dead last by the end of the race I had worked my way from dead last to 10th oh well.

This morning with the 3.9 gears in I started 10th and ended up 5th really had a great race with a mini cooper with a 1275 in it felt really good, put enough pressure on the driver to force a tank slapper and got by, I think with my 4.38 rear gears back in I would have made short work of it.

Felt really good about this weekend considering the lack of sorting we got done on the car. Back on the trailer in one piece and time for more improvements before VIR June 11,12, and 13 and then on to Mid Ohio the following weekend

More to come
