Motoring J & ZONC at Infineon Raceway - June 6th

Post by Datzoom »

It hasn't been officially released but word is Motoring J Style and ZONC are working with Infineon Raceway to bring a big Japanese corral/display to the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival June 6th. (formerly Wine Country Classic)

It sounds like we get to take over the run off at Turn 7 (paved for the record) and they are calling it "Turn Z" to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Z. I think the ticket is discounted (not a premium like most car corrals) and we are going to have the opportunity to do a lap of the track at the end of the day for a $15 donation to Speedway Children's Charities.

And if you haven't been, this is an event where you can see incredible cars racing, open pits, and a free food and wine pavilion. (and no overwhleming crowds or parking hassles like Laguna)

Yes, lets make a good showing. The racing is every bit as good as the Monterey Historics, the ticket price is way less, and perhaps, if we get enough of a showing it will possibly (however unlikely) influence getting some Datsuns out in the races in the future.

Looks like the Motoring J style site got hacked. There is a link that takes you to a porn site.

Link worked for me, unless you consider beautiful Japanese cars porn! :-)

There is a link on the Motoring J Style page. I'm just posting this as a heads up. Both Alvin and I posted links to the Japanese Nostalgic Cars forum and both were locked.

I'm going to try and make it out there. Don't know if I will bring the Z or the roadster. Probably will depend on temperature.

I'm going to try to be in 2 places at once. I have an AutoX first thing on Sunday in Marina, from there I'm going to high tail it north to catch the late afternoon races. I think its going to be a very long day.

This event is great. If you've never been out to the Sonoma Historics it's an awesome way to see awesome vintage racing and stroll through a paddock full of beautiful vintage race cars. Last year I felt likethe paddock and fields at Sonoma were more impressive than Monterey.

The Turn Z ticket enables you to park in an all Japaense corral (paved run-off area of Turn 7), There will also be an opportunity for an all-Japanese lap of the track in the afternoon.

Spread the word, not just to your Datsun buddies but to all Japanese car enthusiasts.

So, are most people looking to show Saturday or Sunday?

The Historic races will be taking place Saturday and Sunday but the Turn Z component with the All-Japanese car corral is only happening on Sunday June 6th.

I will definitely have at least one of our roadsters there.
