Possible problem

Post by spl310 »

Either things got really quiet, or something is amiss with the forum. No unread posts, and no new posts when I hit those links.

I think things are just quiet. Nothing new based on time posts. What do you want to talk about? I am bored at work. LOL!

Hey so I'm getting a used air scoop for under my rad. Do they make much of a difference when it comes to cooling?

The air scoop will help the cooling.
I wish that I didnt have to have the front licence plate on. That probably cuts down the air flow a bit.

Anybody got pictures of how the air scoop mounts? I have picked up a used one but it appears to have been not so gently removed by the seller - so I am not sure how it attaches, or if it is even right for my 67.5.

No pics but it I think they are all the same, and a 67.5 did come with one. They bolt or screw on with 4 screws to the crossmember... there should be obvious, threaded holes for it. The scoop itself has mounting tabs.

Yeah, I hate having to sport the front plate.

No, there are two different versions. They are extremely similar though. The changeover is the 67.5 model year. The 1500s did not have them. Here is information:

Basically, two screws hold it to the radiator, and two to the frame.

Thanks Sid, that's exactly what I needed, mine is definitely altered way beyond "stock". Still it's usable and I should be good.
