I have a charging problem on my 69 2000 and have traced it back to the alternator
I figure if I was ecer going to do the swap now would be the time.
How hard is it?
How much stuff and $$ is involved?
And does anyone have a pic of one installed in a high windshield?
Thanks in advance

Easy, If:
1) You have an idea what it should look like when you are done.
2) You don't make it harder than it really is.
I didn't really have 1 when I started, and I sure did 2. So I wrote up a beginners guide to the GM conversion.
http://www.311s.org/tech/electrical/gmalthigh.html
Steve posted it in the 311s tech electircal tech area. You can look at the electrical tech main page for a link to his write up for earlier cars. He included part numbers and extra details that may come in handy.
Cost? $30-$100 depending on what alt you get, and if you need to buy the smog pump mount from someone.
Good luck, and remember to unhook the battery.

If its not too much to ask do you happen to have a pic of the finished product on the car?

The link above has a photo from above. It is hard to get any clearer shot than that.
