I noticed the 311s tech area doesn't have a dedicated KA24 swap writeup like for the L20, do any of you know any online resources with info on the swap, or know anyone who's done it? I'm just worried about clearances, wondering if more cutting is necessary than to drop in an L20, etc. etc. Thanks!

It has been done but I have no idea as to what all is involved. I would love to put it in the engine swap tech section if we can get someone to spill the beans.

Hey guys - As far as I know, the KA and SR motors are very similar in size/shape except for the KA being heavier due to the SR having an aluminum block.

Supposing all goes well, I'm picking up a 1995 KA24DE, tranny and ECU/harness on Sunday from a friend who's swapping up to an RB20DET  , and after I get my Zcar sorted out (hopefully within the next month) I'll try to track down the new owner of my friend's partscar 1600 Roadster who never came to pick it up  and see if I can buy it for what he paid, since he apparently isn't too interested in it. I'm not overly worried about getting it mounted, Tom has a welder and has "made stuff work" like this before. I'll probably try my hand at learning to use the welder better too, and try to not make it look like a total chop-job. I'll be sure to take some pics and do a writeup if/when this stuff happens. I'm not sure yet whether I'll use the EFI in stock form, get a standalone or fab/find a carb manifold for the KA...OBDII scares me (and I think it was there starting 1995, we'll see!). Wish me luck...
