Hi all. I am new to the forum. I owned a Fairlady in High School while living in Okinawa. I missed it when we moved back to the states, and had long forgot about it. Three years ago, I was coming out of a restaurant here in town, and spotted a 69 in fair shape. I've followed them on eBay and read the forum here since. A couple months ago I purchased a 67 that had been nicely updated with a 70 2000 engine, and 5 sp T. I picked it up in Denver, Colorado, and drove it back to NC. It's got plenty of power. I never had to drop out of 5th crossing over Ranton Pass out of Colorado into New Mexico. It's had a few things happen to it, that I'd forgotten about with my high school roadster. I've been able to find most of my information in the forums here. I just wanted to stop by, introduce myself, and say thanks for the forum.

Welcome, nice find! Is it me, or is the Winston Salem area becoming the East Coast Hood River area when it comes to Roadsters?

Oh, watch out for Kyle and anyone that has a 1500 or mentions Brisco in their signature line. Evil stuff there.

Nice looking find you've got there. Welcome to the forum. Must have been a great drive from Colorado to North Carolina in the roadster.

Yeah.. it was great. I managed to get there inbetween snowstorms. Mid 50's there, and a spectacular ride along the front range into New Mexico. Mid 70's and little traffic until Memphis.. Solid east coast bumper to bumper after that. I had to sort thru headlights not wanting to turn on. Cleaned the contacts at the fuse box to fix that. Throttle got stuck from the adjustment screw. I broke the return spring popping the gas to get it to release. Tightened it down good and replaced the spring. Awesome trip the rest of the way.

beautiful car, and i am very jealous. jealous of the car,and jealous of having other roadster owners in your home town.

the roadster owners that i know of, are both an hour and a half drive from me. i talked to one in person, checking out his ride, before i fell in love with the car, and purchased one. lost his name and contact info, and every time i am back in Mt. View, AR i search for that bright red roadster.

other owner is located in Springdale, AR and we have talked on the phone, and maybe one day will get together for a drive.

enjoy the ride, and welcome to the site. if you are ever in Branson, MO, give me a shout. i am thirty miles s of there.

If they are like my kinfolk in North Carolina, they would have a pig pickin' - and if that happens, I may need to find a way up there!

Barbecue or Pig-Pickin works for me. Of course then there is the debate of what TYPE of Barbecue!
I prefer Lexington style, the Vinegar based over the sugary molasses based but heck, I can eat all of it!!! :D

Great looking car! If you haven't met Rock Vest, Roadster Racing Hero, look him up in Lewisville,NC, R.V. Performance Specialist, Inc.
In Winston-Salem weekly, orginally from there, now down near Charlotte. Rebuilding a 70 2000 slowly, only takes money. Many Roadsters in Winston-Salem area, if you know were to look.
A gathering of Datsuns and Bar-B-Que would be great between SCCA road racing.

What racing events do you attend?

I keep hearing about Rock, my neighbor has spent time with him on Transmission issues, but I haven't come across him yet.
I work in Charlotte, so I probably pass you by! PM me with more details.

Looks like we need to set up a new Sub-Group! WSROC or something!!? :smt006
