I just picked up this product and thought I would share my thoughts. Because of the age and size of my brake and clutch masters, they had to make me a custom adapter. A little crude, but it worked. I put the car on stands, pumped up the container filled with a couple bottles (well 3) of DOT 4 brake fluid. Attached a hose on the passenger left side, opened up the valve. Bled just less than 1/2 bottle, then on to the other valves. I had to pump up the tank a couple of times to maintain 10 PSI, but it was pretty easy to do a fluid swap. I really just needed to do a bleed, but I had the fluid, and once the bottle was opened, it shouldn't be stored. I still had some left over, so I did the clutch too. All I can say is, wow, how much easier could it be for one person.



The photo BTW, was taken before I had any fluid in the container. Everything was well covered during the actual bleeding. I also bled the master, from the master.

It seems the biggest issue with the pressurized bleeder systems (to me anyway), has to do with having a properly fitting (non-leaking) master cylinder cap for the roadster, which apparently is not available with the kits.

Is there a reason why someone can't just obtain and modify an extra roaster MC cap for this purpose and be done with the over-engineered and marginal working substitutes for this item?

Even if you modified an OEM cap it wouldn't get you much further. The cap would pop off at 1 psi and if you could add a restraint to hold the cap on, I doubt if the seal would be able to withstand 10psi.

I figured that might be the case, or someone would have probably done it.

Oh well..........

The adapter plate makes it pretty easy. It takes a whole 3 minutes to hook up. Easiest brake bleed I've ever done.

I built my own using the link posted above. I modified a Roadster cap and used big industrial zip ties to hold it on. I can get a LOT of pressure in there (it is not pretty if it gives way...) and it works fine. It is a little fiddly, but it is certainly doable. I am going to modify it with some brackets and wing nuts to make it more secure.

Awesome, Sid. I bet it cost you a bit less than mine. I would be curious on the cost of the parts, and the time spent making it.

I didn't keep a tally on price, but it was not much. A poly pump up sprayer from ACE Hardware (could get it cheaper at the big box stores if you really want to scrimp), about 6 feet of vinyl tubing (maybe .50 a foot), and a handfull of fittings, washers and hose clamps. I doubt that I spent over $25 for it all. I had a spare master cylinder cap. The hard plastic one is the one to get. Take the rubber seal out, drill the appropriate hole for the fitting, cut the hole in the rubber seal, and bolt it together with a washer inside and out. It took me an afternoon to shop and assemble. It was a fun project in cheapness!

I know this is an old thread but can someone recommend which one of the several different models of the Motive Power bleeder I should get? there's around 4 different ones offered. thanks
