It's kind of the Anti-roadster!

OK, so my other pride and joy - and about as far on the other end of the car size spectrum as you can get from the Roadster, is my '65 Impala convertible!
It's 18 feet long and 6 feet wide. I quite possibly could put the Roadster in the trunk!

And then there is 1.6 liters versus 5.7
Seats 8 versus 2
Power everything plus air conditioning versus power nothing.
Power top versus not and on and on and on -

But they both are a blast and gather the same amount of attention wherever I go.

Very cool.
Nice to see it's unmolested as well.

Thanks I need to add some pics. The molestations have been kept to a minimum - but I totally skipped the overly chromed, Leopardskin furr seats and jammin hydraulics - as much as I wanted too :smt005
I did add some amenities, power tilt steering, (factory option) and front disk brakes but otherwise it's 90% original!

It even happens to Roadsters... Since removed, but I still have them. Free to anyone with the guts to put them in, (except Sid, he actually thinks they're cool).

Classic. Unless you're running Cragar SS's, love the stock wheels.

Never the convertible, but we had a '63, '65, maybe a '67 (fuzzy on that one), and finally a '70.

No Cragars - but not stock wheels either. These are the Rally wheels from a Corvette and 67-70 model Chevrolets. Simple beauty, a stamped steel wheel with a trim ring and a decorative center, but the look is classic. Like I said I tried to keep the molestations to a minimum!

DBRICK -
BURN THOSE SEATS!
What an abomination

beautiful Chevy. IF your roadster was as slick as your Impala, i dare say that the roadster would get the most attention, only because you see Chevys, and Fords, every single day, but how often do you run up on a roadster?

most folks around where i live, come up to me when i am out in mine, asking what the heck it is, saying they didn't even know it existed.

and last Sunday, i passed a beautiful Porsche convertable, and when they caught up to me, i got a thumbs up, along with "nice car" from the lady in the passenger seat. that made my day, BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, no one with me to witness it. kinda like making a hole in one, playing by yourself. i went home, telling the wife all about it, and she just rolls her eyes.

again, not knocking your ride, i love it. but i still say that the roadster wins hands down.

Ahh, again, look at the title of the thread.
I have the jouy of having both, and they are SO different that again, both are attention getters.
Right now, the Impala is in far better shape, but that will soon change.

I agree that the comments from chicks (yes I said that!) especially younger ones, are far more frequent with the Roadster!
And I never get the "gray haired couple" (sorry to people older than me or follicly challenged!) coming up to me wanting to regale me with stories of lost youth and virginity in their old Chevy - and saying "I had one of those, I wish I had never sold it...." I've heard that 1000 times!

As you say, they always want to know what the Roadster is and the provenance! Just having to explain what year it is is a chore! (Why 67 and a HALF??!).

In the end, they both are a blast and I have a car to suit the mood of the moment!!

that statement in your post is the only reason i replied, with a different point of view. not trying to argue with you, but the roadster being more rare, is why i stand by what i said.

my eleven year old is eaten up with Mustangs, and every time we meet one, he goes on and on, about how cool they are. my standard reply to him, is how many have we seen today? and how many roadsters have we run up on? after that i just give him, Mustangs are a dime a dozen. apologies now, to any of you who own a Mustang.

and by the way, if the old folks get graphic, in their memories of early days in their Chevy, that could get quite interesting.

:Tosser:
Ok, I'm talking some seriously sick and disgusting images now running through my mind - and not good ones either. The last couple that came up to talk about the Impala were seriously pushing 80 - and the thought of hearing ANY graphic details about their past flippy floppyness of their youth just turns my stomach!

Finally a great reason to use the "tosser" smilie!
