hi from Tucson
Hi all
just wanted to say Hi
have owned some crazy cars over the years
and still have a few left. Tend to keep what I
can and sell what I need to.
Luckily I live in Tucson and most of the cars I find
here are alway rust free desert cars.
Bought a 71 Fairlady Z RHD about 5 yrs ago, and
started the resto on it last yr.
Last week I picked up a 67.5 1600 roadster. Working
on getting it back on the road. Was barely driven much
at all in the last 23 yrs.
Im sure Ill learn alot thru this site and meet some nice
people.
thanks

Re: hi from Tucson
ignition switch was bad so I bought a univeral
blue streak unit and its just hanging under the dash
for now, but it RUNS !!
Sending unit must be plugged because it wont pull
any fuel from the tank, so its running off a small container
for now under the hood.
What a fun ass car ... only got it into 2nd gear but already
its growing on me.
As much as Id love to keep it, not sure if Ill be able to
just have too many cars as it is, but will see.

Re: hi from Tucson
The sending unit is removed from the trunk area. It has no function as far as passing fuel. You can also get a peek into the tank from there. Using a light instead of a match of course. The fuel tank is easily removed by removing the mounting straps from underneath.
The car looks like a very nice car to start with. Interior looks very complete. You won't have any trouble selling that one. After driving it a while, you may change your mind.

Re: hi from Tucson
cool white Datsun stripe along the door bottoms, that and the hardtop styling says "70's" so loud, I love it.
Try shooting some air from the fuel pump back thru the lines, then siphoning out the remains.
(I know an old crusty roadster owner who had made a special line that he could connect from one of the tires, so he could do the blow back while on the roadside!)
Then a few fuel filters later, you might be back in business driving.

Re: hi from Tucson
I'd be happy to take that 71 Z off your hands so you can make some room to keep the Roadster!!!!
My junk pile:
71 Jeep Gladiator. Restored w/#s matching engine. My WeeBeasty
70 1600 legit 2nd owner. Stroked and bored
Several salvaged w access to a barn full of parts, part cars & whole cars
......What's in the barn is for sale. What do you need?

Re: hi from Tucson
time has come, but think its time to sell off the 67.5
Ive aquired more cars, have enjoyed owning it and learning
about it, but it probably deserves a better owner.
Look for it on ebay starting tomorrow nite.
thanks for all the help guys.
I did get my 71 Z back from paint, will post some pics of
it soon, but it wont be assembled yet.

Too bad it's been such a short visit. Hopefully it you can move it to a new home that'll continue to appreciate it. Make sure the new owner knows of this great reference site!
