Great site, I have nothing to offer but I have many questions and will have more.
Just bought a 67 out in California, my son is mowing yards to pay me, he is 14 so we have a couple of years to do our work, it will be his first car. I'm wishing that it was for me.....Maybe he will change his mind.
Thanks to all in advance for your advise, I used to know everything, then I grew up.... a little.

Parental supervision is the key. Do what the politicians do, rationalize...
You need to drive the car for a while, just to familiarize yourself with it.
Not for your enjoyment, but a selfless act for your son.

Use this line, never fails. "It's for the Children!!!"

Welcome! The initial roadster purchase is just the beginning. Buy another so you have one to look at while you work on the first project. Sounds like a great father/son bonding project. Good luck and ask away!!

Hey CDavis, Welcome aboard from another Texas roadster owner. There are a few guys around your area on here and a couple in other parts of the state, but we have a long way to go to catch those guys out there on the left coa......er......California. If you can, post pics of your project and good luck. You've landed on the best resource for Datsun roadster owners. Lots of great folks.

I pulled in with the white one and my boy said it was a POS.
He has since said 'It's getting better.'

when my daughter all of a sudden decided that the 1992 Sentra with over 300 thou miles was not good enough for her, i flew to CA and drove home a 1998 300ZX SS intending on giving it to her.

on the way back, i remembered why those old Z's were so nice, having owned one before i was married. upon arriving home, i told her this one was too nice, too rare, too fast, and i would just have to find her another one. she and her mom, called me every name in the book, but a month later, we found a 1990 Z, newer body style, and she loved it and was glad that i bought a second one.

now she is driving a 1993 convertable Z, and her husband is driving the 90 that she sold to him while they were dating.

you may find yourself deciding to keep this one, and buying another one for your son. it will work if you play it right.
