Hey everybody, new member here. I actually don't have a roadster yet, but I love Datsuns and am looking into one right now. I wast just curious, what is a good price for a 1969 2000 with a .40 bored over engine, b-cam (?), Mikuni's, and Panasports? My boss is trying to get me to buy it and I don't have a clue as to roadster values.

The question of values comes up a lot and can cause a lot of fuss... my suggestion is the car is worth whatever you are willing to pay for it. That simply.

This discussion went off the rails a bit but I think if you buy a roadster, any roadster, you will not be disappointed.

further you can visibly see what others have paid for similar cars on EBay under the advanced search setting and clicking the closed/ended listings.

Or you can do a search on the forum for similar past topics on the very same topic and maybe look at the photos and judge for yourself.

It sounds to me to be a very nice "package" under the hood. But there are other things to consider.

Ask yourself if you are happy with the condition that it is in for the price. If so cool. If not, then you will have to judge the estimated cost and ~ times it by 2. Then you will know how much it will cost in the condition you want.

I been on the board for over year, and I have yet to find or see onyone completely happy with what the got at initial purchase.

These cars tend to make your imagination run amuck dreaming of better road times to come with a bit of work. Hope springs eternal in these cars It's like a disease.

Thanks for the input and welcome. You're both right when you say that it's hard to place a value on these cars. I also have a 72 240Z and if you ask me it's priceless, but in reality I couldn't expect to sell it for anything even close to what I would want. Not that I would sell the thing anyways.

My boss's roadster is very clean, except for a few minor repairs that need to be done. I'm just trying to get some input before I make a final decision.

How much does he want for the car. Panasports are big $$ as are the carbs. The 69s are the most common of the 2 ltrs but they also have some of the best things going for them. The side markers are the best looking (If you like side markers) and the steering box is the best. It sounds like its set up pretty well, and with a correctly set up set of solexs that car will scream. If you can, you should go to the show in Solvang on the 24th of this month and see the 2nd largest gathering of roadsters on the west coast. The good thing about the 2 ltr roadsters is that they are going up in value, and will continue to do so.
