Looking good ! Did you decide what motor you're putting in it ?

I didn't want to mention it until I actually had it in hand, but...

I recently found a '66 1600 with an H20 in it. Body is rough, but the engine/trans are supposed to be good. And it's complete, so it may be able to donate a few other parts too. Current owner says he has a title, but is having trouble locating it. I'll probably buy it either way since it's destined to be a parts car, but a title would be nice. That's all I'm waiting on to go get it.

Hopefully it can also assist some other local short windshield friends with extra parts.


Of course, a KA24E or L18 is still an outside option, but an H20 would get it on the road a lot quicker. And I really like torque, which the H20 seems to have in abundance.

Picked up a pair of '08 Miata seats today. A little grungy, but it looks like the covers come off pretty easy, so I'll run them through the wash and maybe see about redyeing them.

Looks to be a good fit in the car too. Might need to see if I can get them a little lower down, though. They are currently about 3" below the windshield frame. May see if the Roadster sliders will get them any lower? Don't want to bolt them straight to the floor, but if that's what it takes...

Searched around. Figured out what you meant. This does not apply to the 3G Miata seats. No pan to cut. Just some springs under it like an old school seat.

Another 2007 Miata with good seats showed up. This time in leather. Brown leather.

What are those two screws in the bottom of the passenger seat backrest? That doesn't seem right, but it is on both sets of seats - never noticed that before.

They actually aren't screws. They are little plastic buttons that indicate where the anchors are located for installing a child seat.

If you look in any modern car you will see them on the lower portion of the rear seat. A Miata however, having no rear seats...

If you look very closely, you may also notice the slightly bigger gap between the upper and lower seat on that side. A bit of extra room to access the anchors methinks...

Also debating on looking for a way to remove the seat belt holder on the top...

Either that, or install one on the other side and run a 4pt harness. Which would look/function better?

Without installing a roll bar, I don't think I could get a 3pt high enough to make use of that holder. Then if I have a roll bar, why not 4pt, right?

Well, as often happens, life gets in the way...

In the same week I was told my job is relocating (and if I wanted to keep it I would be as well) something else happened. The gentleman who painted cktrap's car was looking for one of his own and made me an offer on mine. So he now owns it...
