Re: Kendalls 68 1600
I'm sure that Greg has a million little details to sort out on the car before it is done, but getting it to start that first time is a huge milestone! I'm here to help if you need any technical support!

Good Morning Folks,
stopped by to see the car this weekend. She's coming home any day now. Working out a couple of little details. She sounds amazing. Love that brake set up!!

Re: Kendalls 68 1600
Thanks Michael! Greg's taken her around the block a couple of times. Front end needs aligning BADLY. Thanks for your help with those parts. Even without the turbo, he says this car is crazy fast. Working out some brake details. Brakes are still mushy so he's re-building the master cylinder and installing the usual brake pedal / firewall supports.
I haven't let the summer go to waste though. Been out driving the little truck all over Washington State.

This pic I took on top of the Mt. Baker Hwy should make everyone want to go out and drive.

Re: Kendalls 68 1600
Tell Greg that if he is not satisfied with the brake pedal feel, it might be a good idea to upgrade to the 7/8" 240-260 or 280Z (NOT ZX) master cylinder. The master will bolt up to the firewall fine, but it does have metric fittings, so you will need a SAE to Metric brake line adapter.

Re: Kendalls 68 1600
We started to look into the Wilwood or Triton masters but hopefully the Tokico re-build kit will do the trick.

Re: Kendalls 68 1600
Just keep in mind that the stock 3/4" master cylinder will have more travel than the larger bore-- I like a firm, pedal ready to go "right now" and don't care for the pedal travel with the 3/4" master-- for most people, they seem to be ok with it. My personal cars get the 7/8" master-- but it all comes down to personal preference.

The mushy pedal catches everyone off guard. I let my Sis drive the car once. I forgot to explain it to her. Lots of laughs out of that one.

Excited for you Kendall. That should be a significant upgrade in power, but now you'll have to change your subject line to Kendall's 68 SR!

Re: Kendalls 68 SR20DE
Slight set back... the car won't fit on Las Schwabs alignment machine. Another shop in town has a machine but it won't fit that either. Rear axle isnt wide enough with the 15" tires. My guy is going to do it the good old race car way, with an extra set of hands and a tape measure. Should get me through the rest of the summer.

I know of a place in Tacoma... it's been a while but they were used to doing older cars and racers...
