Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
I looked through the thread but maybe I missed it. What wheel studs are needed for these wheels?

Stock studs work fine as long as you aren't running any spacers w/ the wheels. Stock lug nuts do not work though, so order some nice shiny ones to go w/ your new wheels

I think the rear studs were fine but in the pics you can clearly see the fronts needed to be replaced. I was hoping for a part number so that I can have everything ready once the wheels arrive. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
Thanks. I'm working in Afghanistan and I only get a couple weeks at home every 6 months so I hate to waste time hunting down parts. I would rather have them there when I hit the ground so I can knock stuff out quickly.RCMike wrote:I will look for the box.. I replaced them all on my car..

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
If you get the right lug nuts, they will go through the wheels and get much more thread engagement. The stock nuts bottom out in the wheels.
I got the Gorilla nuts shown here at the bottom of the page:
18racing.com/accessories.html
I could tell by the number of turns to tighten I was getting plenty of engagement.
IMO/IME changing studs is a huge PITA as you have to take the rotors off in the front, etc.

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
I used wheel studs, part# 99-1007 from Summit racing, worked great. Also got their tuner lug nut kit part# SUM-7555716S, good deal. I purchased 16ea. of the wheel studs and only used 8ea. as I am going with an rx7 LSD rear end which requires 12mm studs. I have found 7 of my extra studs and will look for the 8th. You can have them for the price of a flat rate shipping box if you want.
Hope this helps,

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
I have an "eye of the beholder" question. I'm pretty settled on the Rota wheels. I messaged the guy on ebay and he said the small caps won't fit on the front hubs when using the 15x7 and they haven't been able to get the wheels with the larger caps. It seems like Unholy's thread says the smaller caps fit when used with the 16x7 wheels. I'm sure I can get some caps made if I need to, so the question I have is...
Which looks better? 15's or 16's? Do the 16x7 Rota's offset make them stick out a bit too far in the front? I can't really tell from the pictures. Thanks!

It'll be a light silver, and I'm going to go with the hyper black rota's, so they will be darker than the car.

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
Has anyone found a solution to the front caps for the 15x7 +12 Rota RB's? There has to be a 3rd party manufacturer that has something that will fit.

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
The problem is that they only have the big caps on the gunmetal and the silver wheels. I want the hyperblack color, and those only have the small caps.
