It has been three years but IIRC the one on my '67 is held in by two screws down into the "hump" and two into the firewall. It is apparent that at the factory they build the car around the heater box.2mAn wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 5:11 pm Been searching on how to remove the heaterbox but most of what I found was how to remove the heater core from the box...
Any tips on this? Does anyone want it when it comes out? Someone in SoCal hoarding spares that has some space lol I will let you hold it for me
Is it possible to remove without taking the dash out?C.Costine wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 7:39 pm It has been three years but IIRC the one on my '67 is held in by two screws down into the "hump" and two into the firewall. It is apparent that at the factory they build the car around the heater box.
Didn’t see this till now. So yeah I used soapy water and went in at an angle instead of trying to just push it in. Once you get it in you can then twist if back in it’s proper place if needed. Patience was definitely needed ha.RickOKC wrote: Sat Jul 28, 2018 8:45 pmDid you get it to work with just the small screwdriver? I'm trying it now, and losing my patience!Mackn367 wrote: Thu Apr 19, 2018 4:07 pmYeah i must be using too large of a screw driver. I might have to use my little flat head and see if that works. It just kind of kept bulging when i would try to poke it thru and just did not want to go in the hole.mraitch wrote: Thu Apr 19, 2018 3:37 pm I trimmed mine a little bit and pushed them thru using small sdcrewdriver
For future reference... it can haha2mAn wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 7:50 pmIs it possible to remove without taking the dash out?C.Costine wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 7:39 pm It has been three years but IIRC the one on my '67 is held in by two screws down into the "hump" and two into the firewall. Thank you GeoffM. I was afraid the plug insert was a specialty item for the Silvia SR20DE. If anyone has purchased something they like please respond.GeoffM wrote: Sat Aug 18, 2018 12:08 pm No difference, although the quality and color varies from brand to brand. The tuners prescribe to the ‘bigger is better’ because larger wires can conduct more current, see.
