With my 68 1600 at the body shop, I started cleaning and inventorying all the salvageable interior/exterior parts.

Removed (more like cut-out) the headlight buckets from the original fenders. Definite keepers.
Removed (very carefully) the broken tabs from the side molding. Very rusty. Replacements on shelf.
Removed two different coats of paint from the back cabin rail/trim piece.
Removed (stripped) the old foam from the center console. Kit coming soon
Removed inner horizontal felt weather strips. Need replacing.

Hammered and wire wheeled all of the aluminum door trim. Dull but usable.

Cleaned up the Custom Hardtop (Snug-top) that came with the car. I began searching out a replacement but holy smokes!!!! They're a little spendy!!! Top is in mint condition. I wanted something with a little lower profile because I love the hardtop look on your low windshield cars.

Side molding + misc. trim pieces are going to Seattle Art Brass next week. Cha-Ching!!!! She's getting painted Thunder Black (yeah I know... another black Roadster.) New chrome will make her pop!

I'm pacing in the garage.

What did I do to my Datsun today...

I got frustrated. Many missing bolts during assembly...

Wait until you try to figure out if they are metric or SAE! Some of both, at least on my 67.5! If you don't already have the ol bucket of bolts to dig through, you will, you will... I have a full deep drawer in my tool box for just such occasions!

Here is the pics of the carb I promised. 2000 floats, all other stuff is 1600s.

The valve is the new one with the kit, but obviously won't fit.

Rebuilt my spare positive ground alternator.
The original somehow broke both wires on the rotor which killed the whole deal.
Anyhoo, I cleaned up my spare, soldered all the connections carefully and re-assembled with new bearings and brushes.

Media blasted case and painted stator.

New bearing and rotor installation.

Finished article.

AT LAST we have CHARGE :D

Now to get the windshield built and installed 8) 8)

Hit a stroke of luck today. Happened to find the BSP plugs for the block in my coffee can (actually protein powder) of bolts. Patting myself on the back for never throwing away anything when I cleaned up all of the bolts and plugs. I'm kind of amazed I didn't, I think I would have assumed I'd put new ones in before I knew they were special thread.
