And if you hate the smell of bleach as much as I do, Simple Green strips it too. As does vinegar. :smt023

Hey Alvin, can you post a picture of your finished Fujimi model with a closeup of where the dash meets the bottom of the windshield frame? My kit is really not fitting well in that location and a major trimming may be required.

Sorry Jordan I don't have the model anymore it was delivered to its owner. It's one of the lower-quality kits of the 311s.
EDIT: just remembered I might have some in-progress pics of the dash/screen fitment, will check tonight

I think I figured out the dash/windshield interface. A lot of trimming. Gluing the windshield in is going to suck. Also, I call it "the monster." It's going to be a light blue with white TE37's.

Shot the body last night with Tamiya "Coral Blue." The picture doesn't do it much justice. It's actually surprisingly close to the 562 Turquoise Blue.

It actually looks really good from a head-on shot. It's very close to completion. I'll get a bunch of pics up once it's done.

I polished the body all the way to 12000 grit the other night and hit it with some plastic polish. Once the raised lettering is all painted, I'll hit it with some wax. That will get rid of the micro scratches. On Sunday I went to glue the front bumper on and got a drop of glue on it, which instantly melted the Alclad chrome off, so I had to respray it. Finally got that glued on last night and started hand painting the raised emblems. This is the nerve wracking part! I'm super happy with the look of the taillights. One part of the kit that bothers me is the sunken in gas cap. I've spent so long on this thing that I didn't bother making a filler neck to fix it. I may pry the gas cap off and make one anyway. This is a late model 2000, so it has the license lamps on the sides. Those still need to get put on, and a license plate decal will hide most of that huge chrome mount.

Did you add the front flares or is that the way the kit came???
