Got the blaster in place and cleaned a couple parts. Sure beats a scraper and wire brush.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Speaking of high school kids...took the SRL to a charity car wash for the HS cross country team. Top was down. I offered $25 if they could was it without getting me wet. They did and did a nice job. Not one of them knew what a Datsun is, but they all thought it was a really cool car.

I did the straps on my passenger seat. Took an hour just to find that hole punching tool. I made the straps tighter than the driver side to give my passenger more fluff. I put the seat back in the car because I don't know when I will get back to it to update the foam and install my upholstery kit.

Cleaned out the fuel tank with AquaKlean.
http://www.kbs-coatings.com.au/gold-sta ... structions
The first clean produced a lot of orange refuse, the second was nice and clear.
Flushed the tank with clean water and letting it dry overnight.

Greased all the grease fittings, what a preek of a job!

Riveted the 1/4 window pivots to the frames.
Fitted the rubber seals to the door frames for the two 1/4 windows.
MAN o MAN!
Were they TIGHT!
With a liberal application of washing up liquid they slipped in but..... difficult to do.

Fitted the 1/4 window glass for the LHS frame.
I used some 2mm brass rod from my local hobby store for the locking pin in the 1/4 window latch.
I gave the pin a slight bend in the vice and it grips just nicely!
Finished frame looks great!

Just about ready to fit the windshield and door glass.
I have polished all the glass with a clay block to remove all surface contaminants.
Worked well!

Soft top frame is all assembled and ready for the soft top.
Can't do much more on it until I get the bottom windshield frame back from the metal polishers.
Need to do a few workshop visits tomorrow to pick up some chroming and paddle my upholstery along :smt026

I wanted to fire up the engine last month but I reckon I should be able to do it this week sometime.

All hydraulic systems are juiced up.
The clutch feels good but I will need to bleed the brakes to get a firm pedal.

I really do want to DRIVE it :D

I finally got to adjust the valve clearance to 0.014". The previous setting was stock (0.019), but was too noisy. My mechanic suggested to try a tighter setting, which I think is way better...and much quieter :D I also rebalanced the twin carbs and adjusted the idle. Better throttle response from 3k rpm to redline than the previous setting.

I got to drive for a while testing the JDM meshies for rubbing on the fenders. So far there weren't any rubbing. Good traction too.

When I got home, I washed and waxed the roadster. Good exercise! :D

So, is this wood piled up in anticipation of some kind of Viking funeral for one of your cars, or just winter warmth for the shop?

Or perhaps one of your neighbors is a witch...

At last I found the Parts outlet that stocks replacement wiper hardware.
I bought two kits to totally replace the mish mash of wiper parts that came with the car.
New kit on top, OEM parts on bottom.
Image
The brand name is TRU Vision and they look to be very high quality parts.
Wiper blades with rubbers is Part No # TE103-10 [10" wipers]
Wiper arms suitable for SPOON, BAYONET or CLIP type blades are Part Number #TC204.
Image
A little cutting to length is all that is required.
They are clamped together with grub screws.
Now all I need is a windscreen to use them on

I got them from an auto parts store here in Adelaide, not much good to you folk in the US of A.
http://www.cartorque.biz/
However TRU Vision is a company in the USA: -
http://www.truvisionwipers.com/blades/c ... ipers.aspx
Their wiper products have been mentioned on the Forum before.
About the only difference from the OEM hardware is the lack of EW stamped on them [Ever Wing].
Did I mention the quality is excellent

I'm still looking for info on the use of the wood..

Is that for the virgin sacrifice under the full moon to ensure the motor fires on first spin?
