I'll take one! Hope they are available soon. I have a leak somewhere in my stock axle.

I was just reading this post and wondering how the RX-7 Rear End set up is working out for anyone that has it installed? Has anyone noticed any issues with the setup? Generally, what does it cost to have the rear end shortened etc? I found one here locally but no sure what it would cost to have the work done to get it to fit in my 1968 Roadster.

Thanks.

I believe Alvin has this set up on his car, and he would be a great source of answers for your questions!

Does anyone know if Spriso Motorsports sell the Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE rear end as a completed unit? Their web site has it as a product but there is no pricing for it like their other products. I email but go no answer. It appears to be a very cleanly done unit. I am impressed.

No, we don't stock the rear ends-- they are hard enough to find. I offer a modification service from time to time... They are very labor intensive to convert, so I like to do a batch at a time. We are going to be converting 9 of them in the next 2 weekends for customers (finally!)

We were very busy this weekend working on housings... there is a reason why we only do this once a year! The shop is thrashed, and I literally had flames coming out of an overheated grinder (much to Eric's amusement!) The aftermath (if you squint carefully you can still see smoke coming out of the grinder):

We are just about half way done with this set of nine...

Kudos to Eric Straw and Dave Jolliff for giving up their weekend to knock these out.

Fantastic work as usual Michael.

But I just can't let this go: do you always us a guard on your grinder? Someone at my company lost most of their neck to a broken grinder wheel :-( I'm only nagging you 'cause none of us can afford to lose you.

Prices are dependent on what you want done, and how your assembly comes to us.

We typically have 6-8 hours in each housing by the time they are done, plus the machine work. I tell people as a rough guide about $750 for the axle housing re-work, and about $150 in machine work. The cost goes up or down from there depending on additional services you want done.

PM me for more information.

Woody, going 4-link, or leaf springs?

This is a pretty cool mod for the Roadster. I have the early GSL non-vented solid rotor version in my 1969 2000. With one auto-x and a Summer of back road driving all I can say is it works great. Makes the car a bunch more fun to drive hard out of the tight corners and you can hang the back out if you like. Let's see big brakes and traction hmmmmm. Need to get busy on the SR20det.

Dave, I'm keeping leaf springs. No one around here to do the 4-link..
