Funny how the camera angle and the direction of the tires make it look that way. There will likely need to be some alignment work done, but it is pretty close to good. I only refreshed the front end from an alignment perspective, all the spacers were left from where they were set years ago. If you look really close, you might see that the radiator isn't quite fixed yet either.

OK, then maybe you need to get your camera aligned?

A few more months have gone by. I've been working on a lot of small things while I wait for the body. Early in March I drove to California to pick it up, but there were too many issues to trailer it home, so I came home empty handed. I anticipate picking it up within the next three weeks. Below are photos of some of the work I have been doing, along with a brief slide-show video of my California adventure.


This was a quick project, sometimes you just need to get something done during a week. High temp paint for the win. I also installed new bolts, washers, and a healthy amount of anti-seize.
I disassembled the entire arm rest, then cleaned it up, painted it a bit, and then reassembled it. Not being thrilled with how it turned out, it is back to a state of disassembly. Second time the charm?
A good amount of work cleaning up and painting the headlight buckets. Now with LED's and mostly ready to install. I'll finish with the wiring once I know what I do with the wiring on the body.
I purchased these for the first restoration twenty-four years ago. The bolt was rusty, as was the back plate. The chrome and mirror were in good shape. I created a new SS rod out of a bolt by cutting the head off. Painted the backing plate with POR-15. These are now ready to mount.
The heater core was tested and water tight, I went through every piece of the heater box, new foam on the inside, then cleaned and painted the outside. Waiting on a few screws, but those will be here soon.
Sometimes you just need to attach something to the car. In the case it is the rebuilt reverse light. After several months of not touching the frame, this is a welcome addition.
As much as I tried, I could not fully clean these. So I did the next best thing, I painted them. Pleased with the results.
Current project is rebuilding the radio console and environmental controls. When finished, the cigarette lighter will be replaced with a USB A/C charger, with the choke and wiper squirter replaced with heated seat controls.

The arm rest and radio console are almost ready for installation


Not much drama this time as I was able to pickup the body and bring it home.
Used seven tie down straps, other than the hood popping out and needing adjustment, the drive home was incident free.
I took one snapshot of my rear view mirror when traffic was stopped. I had a great view of the body all the way home.


The first thing I did? Give the body an identity. The D A T S U N decals are now on the front of the hood. Had some fun with an ASMR sped up recording.
